We are a small educational consultancy that runs a highly successful online intervention for struggling readers. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, we are looking for a new team member who is able to work from home 25-40 hours a week.

The Role

You will spend a bulk of your time training and supporting parents and teachers both in writing and on the phone. You will be teaching them how to use our online reading program, and giving advice and consultation as needed. You may have occasional Skype interactions with the children using the online lessons. This is an extremely rewarding process since turning struggling non-readers into readers is such a life-changing outcome for each child.

As a small company, we are renowned for our highly personalized customer service. So any team member must be totally confident speaking on the phone to others, and enjoy interpersonal interaction. Though we will fully train you in our system, you must feel confident taking a teaching/advisory role when speaking to a wide variety of people. And your writing must be incredibly clear and accurate.

All of the work is computer-based, so you must have up-to-date digital skills.

We will fully train you in the main causes of reading difficulty and issues around learning difficulties, so no teaching or educational background is required. However you should be a quick learner, as there is a lot to absorb in the few first months. It is an exciting process, but a very detailed one!

There are a mix of other activities to get involved with at DM Education, from developing new materials for our learners, to social media marketing. Some experience in social and digital marketing is desired, but not required, for the role.

We do not have a US office, so we are looking for candidates who are willing to work from home as a self-employed contractor (with guaranteed hours as agreed). Because of that and our overseas headquarters, we cannot provide any health/pension benefits, but will compensate you well for your time. We need someone able to work 30-40 hours a week on a regular daily schedule that is consistent. As a company, we encourage our employees to take 4 weeks’ vacation every year and the same would apply for this position.

Both salary and hours are negotiable. Based on a 40-hour work week, monthly compensation will likely range between $3200-4400.

Confident on the phone – indeed, you have to enjoy it!
Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy; after you are trained in the position you will be managing global accounts relatively unsupervised
Highly computer literate
Willing to be self-employed and work from home
Some experience of digital/social media marketing would be an advantage
Completed college degree

By dealing with each of the causes of difficulty as necessary, through both our program and phone consultations, we have developed a very high success rate in helping children succeed (around 98%). We take an active consultative role with each family, which is key to each child’s success.

As a parent working through the 20/21 school year in distance learning with 3 elementary kids, there were at least some positive upsides. For example, my daughter Laine’s (2nd grade, 8 years old at start) reading ability (when she is such a bright, exuberant, creative, SMART kid) kept me up at night. Something was not connecting. No amount of pressure or more reading was making up for the missing pieces in her ability to read. I was literally awake in the middle of the night, by chance watching Dr. Morgan’s Facebook ad and knew he was talking about my daughter. I started crying and felt I had been given such a gift. By morning in February 2021 she was signed up and on her way to decoding and cracking her reading struggles. It’s not been easy all the time, we have struggled through some lessons with tears and frustration. BUT today, Laine passed her 223 lesson, earned her helicopter (the code words/spy prizes have been a great motivator), and has gone from a 1.5 grade reading level to reading at a 5th grade level with limited assistance in only 10 months. I am so grateful for the Easyread program. Their attention to detail, one on one phone calls and Zoom meet ups, quick response time to questions, and consideration for my kid’s development has made us feel cared for each step of the way. I was really skeptical about this for my 8 year old, how can 15 minutes a day and video, and games work? He struggled with blending and decoding. He know can use the trainer texts faster then I can figure out the word myself to see if he is correct. The system moves as he needs and the personal support is amazing.
