Training for Schools

9 Causes Training for Teachers, beginning 20th May

This training will really get to the root of reading difficulties in readers and offer a foundation method that will boost phonics learning and literacy.

In every class there are students who find reading more difficult than the average child. This can come to light even more following the Year 1 Phonics Screening. Not knowing the cause of reading difficulties can mean many hours spent researching and trialling new strategies to hopefully help each child.

However, without knowing what the root cause is, your interventions can feel time-consuming and less than effective. This is a five-week course that will deepen your understanding of the 9 causes of reading difficulty and explores the solutions available to the children that struggle.

By the end, you will understand the different causes of reading difficulty and you will have new skills and resources at your disposal to achieve change and progress for the children. These will not only increase progress for the children in your class but also relieve time pressures on you.

Learning Outcomes

  • A comprehensive understanding of the 9 causes of reading difficulty
  • The ability to identify patterns for each cause of difficulty
  • New strategies to deal with identified reading difficulties
  • On-going support and advice by email and telephone

In doing this course, you will discover that reading difficulties are not insurmountable. All it takes is the right strategy!
