Mia: from discouraged to completely confident in reading!

The Backstory

Mia was reading above grade level, but we noticed that she was resisting reading and beginning to guess at words rather than sound them out. She was increasingly discouraged about her reading ability and lacked confidence and joy in her reading endeavors.

The Easyread Experience

Easyread was our first effort to supplement and support our daughter’s reading and spelling capacity. Mia loved the lessons and picked up on the Easyread characters almost instantaneously. The characters and decoding practice helped her identify patterns (even when they didn’t totally follow the ‘rules’) and she gained enormous confidence in her capacity to sound out unfamiliar words.

The Results

She has significantly greater confidence and enjoys reading out loud to us. Mia has competence as a reader now. We have achieved our goals!
