Our focus from Day 1 of Easyread is to fill the decoding gap for struggling readers. That means it is vital to use every word in the Easyread lessons as a workout at the Decoding Gym!

If your learner knows the word in the lesson straight out, it is fine for them to read it. But ANY word that is guessed, or where there is hesitation…? It MUST be decoded, using the help of the letters and the Easyread visual phonics characters.

If you need to refresh the characters, just head to the printable resources zone to grab a useful reference sheet or flashcard set.
