What was reading practice and spelling like for Jack before Easyread? (main concerns, consistent patterns and frustrations)
Jack was very slow to read words quickly. He would sound out each sound. When he would do out loud reading it was hard for him to follow the story because he was so focused on sounding out each word. He was frustrated and was developing a disdain for reading.
2. PREVIOUS INTERVENTIONS DONE
What types of reading and spelling support had been tried with him before Easyread?
We tried phonetic reading programs for years. We had paid tutors to help and nothing really clicked.
3. THE EASYREAD EXPERIENCE
How was the day to day experience of working through the DM Easyread process like for you both? (the highs… and the lows!)
Surprisingly great! I wasn’t sure what to expect since I just happened to see an add on FB and thought what the heck, we had tried everything else. I was amazed by the support received. You guys have been so easy to get in contact with and the codeword prizes were amazing!
4. THE OUTCOMES
What have been the outcomes so far for Jack, including any remaining frustrations?
Jack is doing so much better! He is already above grade level! He isn’t embarrassed to read out loud anymore. He is actually able to read and not focus so much on sounds. He can now actually follow the plot of the book he is reading. He is starting to fall in love with books which is exactly what I was hoping for him!
5. THE IMPACT & VALUE DELIVERED
How do you feel it has shifted his life path and how does the investment made, both financial and in the time taken, compare to that view of his future?
This program might seem like a lot of money but honestly isn’t any more than other things we have tried. The only difference is that actually worked. It changed so much for our family. It removed a stress from my shoulders because I was so worried about him. It made reading fun for him, he loved the lessons! So incredibly worth it! I have and would most definitely recommend to friends!
