Can you imagine Tom cruise being referred to as “that dyslexic actor” or Jay Leno being known as “the dyslexic comedian”.  It isn’t done, just as a child with dyslexia should not wear the label of being dyslexic as part of their self-image.

If a dyslexic child is accepted and valued for who they are and embraced for their assets instead of dwelling on their deficits, they will grow up believing that dyslexia is more of a condition that they have, rather than something that they are.
