Here are some very sobering statistics from Washington State:

One in three of the children in 3rd grade are seriously behind in literacy! The brutal reality is that most will continue to plateau and then fail chronically through the rest of their shortened school career. And the real kicker is that Washington State is probably well above average in performance.

We are consistently teaching 3rd graders to read on our home program around the country. So my question is “why do the schools of those children, who have seen the changes possible in 6-9 months, not get in touch to find out what we have done?”

Some school managers seem to have an emotional block over this issue, because even the schools who do embrace our intervention (and see fantastic results) struggle to recruit their neighbours to it.

If you are a teacher reading this, please prove me wrong!
