I am pleased with how things are going so far. I feel that Cameron is steadily growing in confidence with each lesson and he is still really enjoying the sessions each evening. I am already seeing changes in the way he reads during the lessons: his speed and accuracy have definitely improved, but what is really lovely to see is that if any difficulty arises it is now becoming habit for him to sound and decode the word, rather than use his old strategy of repeatedly guessing.
We recently met with Cameron’s teachers for a parents consultation, and they said that Cameron has talked enthusiastically to them about his easyread lessons. In particular, his learning support teacher who has been working with him on his reading for some time now said she has already noticed improvements in his decoding and reading ability and she asked us to pass that feedback on to yourselves.
