Adam is following the programme well and his reading is certainly picking up, particularly if we compare him to this time last year. He is still a very reluctant reader and will battle against it, but this is also a lot less than a year ago.
He is much more inclined to read road signs and the sides of lorries and vans without any prompting, which we continue to encourage. The biggest change is that we now understand Adam’s difficulties and struggles so are better able to help, empathise and encourage him when he is feeling down about his school work.
