We had a big boost this week at Sam’s parents evening (phone call). His teacher said his progress in reading has been excellent. In fact in the last reading assessment his reading age was 11+ (at 9.8 years old) and his score was one on the best in the class!! I’m not getting too hung up on the assessment, it was just one test and one way of measuring, but what a confidence boost for Sam! Don’t think he has ever been near the top of the class in anything and always been below his actual age in reading ability. Like anything it’s hard to see the progress when you are working on something day in day out, but clearly Sam has made massive improvements. Super proud of him (and me!) for persevering through all the frustrations. We’re still going, I still think there is more for him to learn and embed, but I’m very happy. Thank you! If only you had an easy maths solution too…
