Supportive and understanding
K has really enjoyed the Easyread program. We actually moved her over the the Spell-Magic program a few months ago. She is still reading a little bit below her grade level here in Canada, but she did move from being about 2.5 years behind to about 6 months behind in less than a year. Now that she is almost at grade level with her reading, we are trying to getting her spelling closer to grade level. This is the reason we moved to the Spell Magic program. Diana was very helpful as we made our decision to move to spelling help. She was supportive and understanding.
5 months progress in his first half term…
Sam is progressing well. He has been assessed at school and has made 5 months progress in his reading in his first half term this year. This is of course welcome news! He is working well with the Easyread lessons, although he needs to put more effort in with his sounding out, which I keep reminding him to do.

He is happy, motivated and making progress, with his eye on the final prize!…
Eliot is doing fine with Easyread. He has never found it particularly difficult, which has helped! He finds the reward system a great incentive (great that the rewards came thick and fast at the beginning). He is motivated to finish the course with his eyes fixed on the final prize: the helicopter! He is happy to come to the computer every morning before school for his ten minutes. There has been a few grumbles of late – a bit repetitive, snow-white doesn’t appeal much, although he is reading it without complaint. He is still prone to make the occasional hasty decision: guessing or not waiting for the definition of the word before saying if it is correct.
He seems to be making progress, and is more willing to do general reading before bedtime. He likes the range of Dyslexia Friendly Books by publisher Barrington Stoke. Our school has recently bought lots of them. He has just finished his second book and finds it satisfying to be able to read a chapter of a chapter book in one or two sittings.

He will be in the best possible position to move up to secondary school now…
Generally Tom’s reading is getting stronger and he is having extra literacy lessons at school to help with his general work. I am confident that with all this he will be in the best possible position to move up to secondary school next summer!

I'm very impressed…
Finn has been making good headway over the last few weeks and I’m very impressed with his efforts. Thanks!

The first time he has EVER wanted to read a book for himself…
I have been dancing with joy this week over the fact that David has chosen a book for himself to read and is obviously enjoying the challenge and the story itself. It is the first time he has ever EVER wanted to read a book for himself. Hooray!

I can't think of any improvements that I would suggest…very happy…
I’m very happy with the program. The biggest achievement to date has been that Harrison is starting to develop some confidence around the process of reading and is attempting to read his own books, looking more closely at signs, etc. The prizes are excellent. I can’t think of any improvements that I would suggest!

Incredible!
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your email. We have ddefinitelyseen progress in Reana’s reading – its been like a light bulb has been switched on in her head – she is now looking at words and trying to decode them on her own, she is looking at words all around her in her environment and trying to figure them out for herself. Without the easy read pictures above the words she is still at the stage of just decoding CVC words like pin, cat, hut, dog etc but she can do it now – which is incredible as at the start of September she was completely baffled by it all. This is coupled with the support her primary school is giving her, they know we are doing easyread with her and have backed off on her reading her reading book from school every day, they are also giving her one to one with an adult looking at her phonics and supporting her reading, so this has obviously played a part too. But without a doubt easyread has kicked started the whole process. She has responded really well to the visual learning process and can now read words just by the pictures (with no letters shown) – I am certain she is absorbing all this partly through a sort of osmosis process where she is just becoming so familiar with the pictures she is just starting to know the words. Her reading is still at its very early stages though, she is only just recognising the word ‘a’ and ‘the.

It's hard to believe we have achieved this much in only 4 months…
Today we completed our 100th lesson!!
David is doing very well and we are seeing progress at school with his reading. Slow, but steady, which is what I prefer.
Thanks for all the support so far. We have come a long way since July when we started and it’s hard to believe we have achieved this much in only four months.

So impressed
Hi There!
I just have to say how impressed I am with the improvement in J’s reading. He actually reads books on his own without my prodding. That is a miracle. 🙂 We are still working on his decoding of larger words, he tries to throw in the towel when he sees them, but when I remind him to do it like he does on Easyread (Sounding out each letter) he does it and reads the word without a breakdown. I have no complaints at this point. He still enjoys the lessons…though he does seem a little bored now with the monkey game at the beginning. Thank you so much, I am so thankful for this program.

Proud of herself!
H is so pleased and proud of herself for completing the course, as am I and her father. Can’t wait to get this helicopter and take it to the beach for a test flight.
I am sure her reading will continue to improve she has even asked Santa for Diary of a Wimpy kid books collection!
thank you for all your support
He has grown dramatically in confidence…
I have set up a chart for Tom to record his eye-tracking exercises. He is keen to get the prize you have offered. He is progressing incredibly well and has grown dramatically in confidence!

No battles over reading…
L is getting a lot out of Easyread. His fluency is improving and when he rereads the text on the second day, he is very confident. He is finding the trainer text much easier now, and I have no reluctance from him to do it. Before we began Easyread, we were having daily battles over reading. I am delighted by the progress in his confidence.

I’m doing the whole course again!
I wanted to send you what L exclaimed upon completion of the last riddle. While listening to David’s message saying that he was finished, he said,
“Don’t tell me I’m done with Easyread?! I’m doing the whole course again! I love Easyread. It’s just so fun!”
I too love Easyread. I am sad it will be over soon, but happy to hear there is a little extra bit on decoding that we can do.

Moved from a level 6 to a level 11 in the 6 weeks since started…
My husband and I are very pleased with the investment we have made with Easyread. We have seen Blake move from Level 6 reading to Level 11 in the six weeks since we started. It is so positive and his confidence has really grown.
We are really pleased to have caught any issues early as the schools current reading recovery would take him out of class for an hour a day, as well as having 4 reading books a night and homework. It is a lot to ask a 6yr old to do after a long day at school. Its actually a lot to ask a parent when it will be an uphill battle in the evenings. We have found first thing in the morning before school – the perfect time and Blake always asks for it.
The highlight to date for us, was when Blake received a school certificate at assembly for his dramatic improvement at reading!

His whole demeanour is changing…
Tom’s decoding in everyday reading has improved and he will have a sensible go at working out any unfamiliar words. He is not shying away from reading now and is keen to read at bedtime – sometimes with both parents – one after the other!! His whole demeanour is changing – he is full of confidence and it is great to see.

Very encouraging…
E has found the Easyread programme fun and interesting. He loves the games at the end but also is keen to read The Three Little Pigs. I have to say that he is often quicker than me to decode. I have noticed an improvement in other reading. He particularly is enjoying reading to himself in bed some Dr Suess blue back books, something he could not do before. His teacher has also noticed progress. Both E and I are happy to continue. It is very encouraging.

Wrote the shopping list!
I just wanted to let you know that B wrote the shopping list today ! wonderful to see his progress thank you so much

The teacher commented on his progress…
Dean is showing excellent progress. Yes, he still guesses and struggles to sound out words, but his confidence to try and sound out new and difficult words has improved in leaps and bounds.
I can also report a lot more spontaneous reading out and about and also attempts to read instructions for games on the iPad! His teacher has also commented on his reading progress at school.

Most impressed…
Joseph is doing really well with his reading and spelling and is now at reading stage 8 on the Oxford Reading Tree! I’ve been most impressed with the course and it has helped Joseph to catch up and even surpass his school friends!

Doing amazingly…
Acacia is doing amazingly at school and her literacy improvements have been great, although still a long way to go. Thanks as ever.

In 2 weeks the improvement has been huge…
I’ve just had a real WOW moment. I hadn’t worked with Ben for over 2 weeks, and the improvement was huge. He has been completing Easyread everyday, he has been an absolute star!
