Parent Reviews of Easyread

Our most recent reviews:

Improving remarkably…

I’m glad you prompted me for an update as we have exciting news. Darcy’s reading has improved remarkably already. He has been tested at school and to everyone’s amazement went up a level in his reading. The school is amazed and has started asking all sorts of questions about the Easyread program, which they have started mentioning to other children with similar needs. I’m really proud of the efforts Darcy has put in and the achievements he’s made in both his spelling and reading. Thanks very much to your excellent program.

We are not alone…

I have really appreciated the regular checking in and emails that you all send to us. It feels like we are not alone doing this program and that if we need something,I feel like I can ask for it easily. I have been impressed so far on the ease of using Easyread and we are already seeing changes in my daughter’s ability read and sound out new words. We are completely satisfied with all we have done so far and are eager to continue on because we know success is coming lesson by lesson!

Easyread was eezee peezee…

I love Easyread, its so much fun i would rather do this than go to school and when I’m older if I have children I want them to do this course.

My favourite part was the story and my favourite game was letter quest and the game that I didn’t like was MUSHROOM PICKER. And learning to read with Easyread was eezee peezee but at the start putting my letter together to make a word was hard but then I learnt more and enjoyed it lots.
lots of love

It's helping me…

Thank you for sending me the torch prize. I’m getting on fine with Easyread and it’s helping me with my reading and writing.

Morgan has come a long way…

Amazingly Morgan has come to the end of the Easyread programme! He was actually very upset last night when we told him there was no more.

Morgan has come a long way and he has definitely made improvements with his reading. Since my last conversation with David the tips he gave have made a bif difference.

Anyone who reads this and decides to go for it will find that the program is well structured and the help offered at every sticking point is always there. (And parental help is a must when frustration can often be a hindrance!) I’d like to thank the whole team for giving us the tools to improve Morgans reading ability.

The cost will always be an issue for some people and it would be very difficult for any one person to put a value on helping your child to be able to read at a competent level. Thank you again for your continued support.

I am so happy…

I am so happy that I have nearly finished Easyread. I have enjoyed it. I liked the story about Grace and the games. Thank you for helping me to learn to read.

They were speechless…

I have been busy telling the school what we are doing with Easyread and showing them how it works. They were amazed at Chris’ reading on the story part of the lesson… to be honest they were speechless that he could decode long words.

Doing really well…

Peri seems to be doing really well with his Easyread sessions. He is happily still very enthusiastic and motivated.

what an amazing journey it has been doing the Easyread course…

I just wanted to tell you what an amazing journey it has been doing the Easyread course, and to thank you.

Harvey completed the course on Friday (one day before his 9th birthday) and is so proud of himself. He now says ‘I can read’. This alone is cause for celebration, as he has never really felt proud of himself before.

Easyread has become a major part of our lives over these last few months. It has been an emotional journey, but we felt supported all the way through. We invested a lot of time in it, and Harvey has worked incredibly hard and it has all paid off. We really cannot thank you enough for all the support and expert help and time you have given us. It has been life-changing for Harvey, and for us all as a family.

As you will know, having a struggling reader in the family has an impact on everyone. Harvey is a different boy now- empowered and believing he can affect change through his own efforts. He is happier at home, standing taller, and at school he is accessing the curriculum and feeling more able to cope.

His teacher, who uses the Phonographix method, says his knowledge of the code of the English language and all its sounds is actually far better than that of his peers who have been reading for years.

Tonight Harvey read a phonetically decodable controlled vocabulary school reading book to me. He had begun reading this particular text to me just before he started Easyread, and we were using a colour overlay, and a piece of card with a hole cut out of it, to reveal one letter at a time, and he was really struggling to read this text. He got so frustrated that he could only read one page at a time (about 10 words). Tonight he read the whole book in less than five minutes, fluently and with expression, and comprehension and enjoyment of the story. The only words he found tricky were the vowel digraphs ‘learn’ and ‘screamed’, but he didn’t get frustrated.

He has gone from being a non-reader at the age of eight, to a reader at the age of 8 and 364 days!

Harvey is generally reluctant to put in effort, possibly partly due to feeling that his efforts were all in vain. Easyread was never a problem for him though. He never refused to do it, and we got into a wonderful habit of doing it. It became as much a part of our lives as mealtimes and bedtimes. We have become emotionally attached to it, and it has made us feel secure that Harvey was making progress, and was in safe hands.

Many, many, many thanks,

J

Thank you…

Ben’s teachers and tutor have all commented on how well he is doing and I am absolutely sure this is largely due to Easyread. Thank you so much!

Everything is going well…

Everything is going well with the course. We’ve actually had some positive feedback on Elina’s normal reading in a recent parent teacher meeting. She has also said that she is finding reading much easier now so being able to feel the impact  is helping to keep her motivated. Thanks for all the help so far.

"Star of the Week"

Just to let you know that Chloe is progressing well. She is almost on lesson 100 of SpellMagic and she is proud of herself for this achievement. Her spelling is starting to improve and last week she was “star of the week” in her class because of this improvement. Her confidence is growing and this is good to see. She is the youngest in her class and has always been playing catch-up with the others. I believe that SpellMagic is really helping her – we only wish we had discovered Easyread one year previously!

Callum is continuing to enjoy the Easyread program…

Callum is continuing to enjoy the Easyread program and enjoyed moving onto the new story, he chose Ungar – the temptation of dinosaurs was just too great! He got on great with it. We are continuing to see his reading improve and with it his confidence to read out loud.

I am super happy…

My favourite bit of Easyread was reading Ungar, Hoongo and Sneedos names. I like the games on Easyread especially pinball, spotter and the monkey word one. I am super happy to be at Gold level and the best characters are ants in pink pants, the chimp, the eggs with little legs and the fish. The queen being green was gross!

Love Samuel

I am proud of myself…

I am proud of myself and it feels so good to be on a new level. I have enjoyed the whole of Easyread, the stories were the best bit.

Love Abigail

A reader in a matter of months…

I go in to my children’s school each week to listen to readers, and I just want to get the struggling ones onto Easyread there and then. It’s so sad that not everyone will not take the chance to do the course. It would make everyone into a reader in a matter of months and then they could be free from the struggle!

I have already seen an improvement in Peter's attitude…

I have already seen an improvement in Peter’s attitude to reading – before the course he had reached a point where refusal to try was easier than reading anything, so we were at loggerheads much of the time. He is gaining confidence in himself and I find him reading things he would never have bothered with before – like the instructions for games, road names, magazine articles. I am hopeful!

All going very well…

Aran is finding Easyread very easy at the moment. She can read the pages of the story where the letters are not shown quicker than I can so lessons are very short. Her reading in other contexts is now at a very good level. She seems to have been moved into the top reading group at school and she no longer has any frustration in reading and can breakdown long new words well. So in summary all going very well at present!
-J

His improvement is monumental…

Noah is reading his older sister’s books on his own.  He sounds out words that are unfamiliar to him.  He is truly trying, his improvement is monumental.  I may sound like a scratched cd, but thank you, thank you, thank you!

-C

Peter is encouraged by his own progress…

Peter’s reading and spelling have already improved and he is encouraged by his own progress. He is happy to complete the session and does not complain about having to do so. At times I feel he almost gets through it too quickly!
