I have noticed that kai is still guessing certain words and I am having to remind him to decode and when he does he generally gets the word, but we have already noticed an improvement in his reading! Cant wait to see how the next few weeks go 🙂

Thanks so much for the letter and spy glasses that arrived this morning. Archie say’s he’s never enjoyed trying to improve his spelling this much which is a great sign!

Archie as also thrilled to be able to decode yacht in his lesson today. He said he had no idea when he first saw the word and he’d never have got it. We plan to get a bit more familiar with the characters when I can get access to a printer and I hope to see lots of more little moments like this evening 🙂

I’m delighted that she loves doing it. She has moved from guessing the words and taking ages to decipher to almost reading it smoothly first time. So that is wonderful to see. last night also she sat down and said she was going to write a book and proceeded to do some writing. It was hard to decipher, but with a little help she did really well. She’s never shown any real interest in actually writing anything that’s not just a squiggle or her name.

I think the program is excellent, and I love the way you keep an eye on how happy she is and called me when she wasn’t happy. The prizes are great. I am optimistic. The teacher thinks she is dyslexic and she is going for screening for this through the school, and with some things in your program I can see this, eg she will read bowl as blow, and gets things the wrong way around, but the program allows us to deal with words one at a time without feeling pressure. The senco in the school had heard of your program and was very pleased Grace is on it. I can’t really think of how you could improve it, but I do know Grace loves it when she gets messages of encouragement from you, but I think you have all that covered.

Thank you so much, He did so well in our session today, reading the words and blending so much better. He was so proud of himself and he said, “I can read, mummy.” I had tears in my eyes. I am optimistic that this programe can really work for him.

Fantastic thank you … M has already completed lesson 1 and loved it … I have seen a huge weight lifted off his shoulders just by knowing that other people have the same struggles as he has and the fact there is something out there to help him. School have bombarded him with extra work (he came home with 20 pages of worksheets and was down hearted.. but as soon as he completed the first lesson with you he was like a different child!)

I think he is quietly proud of what he can manage so far, as his confidence was low before we started. Also, he looked genuinely excited when David mentioned that he would be able to read by the end of the course.

As a parent who is home educating, it is really great (and very relieving) to have proper, professional help and a structure to follow, after trying for so long to use phonics.
