Now I can read a big chapter book

Thank you so much, it really helped me with my reading. Without this program I would be guessing all the time when I read. Now I can read a big chapter book without messing up on my words. Thanks.

Resistance to reading dropping already!

This [case study] resonates with me! It is so similar to our experiences, right down to the sleeplessness and late night google search that steered me in the direction of Easyread.
We are only at lesson 75 but have seen the resistance to reading dropping away, and an increased motivation to read signs, catalogues and cereal boxes already! Easyread really is making this whole process much easier!

Lovely expression!

Olivia is reading much more fluently and with lovely expression. She decodes words well and will persevere to figure out new words.

Reading much faster

Kais reading has definitely improved and when he is not tired is able to decode words well. His “fluency” is also improving and he can read much faster.

He’s loving the British accent!

Tell David that Cameron likes the way he says “HI, Just put in your pahssword and click the green botton.” 🙂 He enjoys it thoroughly each night we start easyread! 🙂 I’m trying to explain to him that English is an interesting language in that different countries have different words (and pronunciations) for things – crisps are our “chips,” and bum is “butt/bottom” over here! He LOVED the baby bum, by the way…he was laughing!

I feel confident to read out loud now!

I found Easyread fun and helpful because in class we read in a group and when everyone else goes quiet and it’s my turn to read, I used to get shy but I feel confidant now and I think my reading has improved. I prefer the new lessons with the riddles because it is more challenging for me!
Thank you

Easyread is awesome!

It is awesome to have Easyread. It is really good. You make things a lot of fun. I have one idea for tomorrow. It is just that – could we do Fighting Mission again? I really like Fighting Mission.

Teyah’s review of Easyread

I think that there is big words and I want them to keep coming up because I am learning new words this way. I only know how to do little words. It’s been helping me to read because I’m getting better. Sometimes I get a little bit angry when I read when I can’t get the word. I took a little break from Easyread (month of Sept/Oct) but then I wanted to come back. And, also, I find it fun and enjoyable. I am happy to be at level four, and I like the riddles. Thank you for giving Easyread to kids who can’t read.

Becoming more confident

Mia seems to be progressing well and is becoming more confident with the decoding and is much better now with the re-reading.

The rewards seems to work well and a classic example was when Mia received her note book. She had not shown much interest in writing but as soon as she got the notebook she wrote “thank you Easyread” and has been regularly trying to write and spell since.

I am confident we are on the right track and will see a good result.

A+ in reading this year!

Hi Sarah: It is good news that we have stopped doing Easyread lessons. Stetson has an A+ in reading this year and we just haven’t needed to continue. Plus, 4th grade has more homework and in order to keep up with it, we just put Easyread aside. Reading is now Stetson’s strength!

I have a tear in my eye…

I am so excited … today is the first day that Trent has switched from saying each letter in a word to blending a few letters together to form a word. I notice an improvement in his reading. he has a way to go still but the process has begin.

Easyread is "magic"!

Hi there – Elijah was delighted with the helicopter – it’s been a huge hit. We also went to the cinema and his Dad took the boys climbing as a celebration for all the hard work achieved by finishing Easyread. And this morning I set Elijah his first ever assignment of reading a book for himself and asked him to summarise what he had read. He did really well.

We are at last on our way to him beginning the journey that I hope he will be on for the rest of his life – the journey of self learning! Hurray! Such a gift and so much is due to you at Easyread really making reading easy and joy to do. The lessons have been consistently stress free and to my absolute amazement have worked like “magic” (that is how I have described it to friends) – with seemingly no effort reading has become second nature to him over the past 9 months, to the point now that he reads spontaneously for his own enjoyment. For us it is utterly joyous to see him – there were so many times I never thought it would be possible. I think we feared he would grow up to be a person who hated reading because it was such a labour. We are so so grateful for the gift you have played such a large part in giving him. Thank you!

She's finding reading easier!

We are seeing improvement in Darcy’s progress with Easyread she is finding the lessons enjoyable and easier. The best progress I can report is that Darcy says she is finding reading easier too!

Soon to be best reader in his year!

So pleased to have this website as a resource. James is speeding along. He is now doing it so fast that I am really starting to doubt it can possibly be doing any good simply because it’s too fast! If he is paying attention he can do the reading in less than 2 minutes. Usually there will be some need for a snack or toilet stop or some such in between pages, but the fact that he seems to be actually able to read the image-less text without issue is quite amazing to watch. His spelling in the games is almost always smack-on. We are now up 5 or 6 levels at school and it seems possible that he actually could be among the better readers in his class by the end of the year.

He's now at grade average!

Thank you for the information. I think you should know that Paxton was very behind at the end of last year in his reading. We just had him tested for different learning disabilities and such and scored right in the middle of his grade level at the 50th percentile. We are very pleased with this and feel that his hard work with your program is a very large part of that success.

She's writing Harry Potter 9!

She has for the first time in her life sat down and written a 9 page book called Harry Potter 9. And she instigated a 2 page essay on Picasso at a play scheme about him. Her spelling is a big choice (drawing – jroing) but who cares – she’s loving telling stories!! Thank you Easy Read!!

Case Study: Low confidence, guessing, and inconsistency…

Before Easyread, getting Harry to read anything was a real battle. He would skip words, use the pictures in books for clues, and stumble over even the simplest words. On one day he would read quite well, but on another he would be awful. His spelling was atrocious too, from small words to big ones. His confidence in himself was at an all-time low.

client imageAfter Harry’s mother Lucy found Easyread, things started to change. The program was very easy to use, the length of the lessons (15 minutes) was perfect, and the games were good fun for Harry. The way the program was set up made it very achievable in the rush of getting ready for school in the morning. Though it wasn’t all plain-sailing and fairy-tales all the way through, Harry was more often than not very happy to login for his lesson and he rarely missed a day. In all, it was a positive experience.

The results were initially slow to become obvious but it’s now clear that Easyread has made a huge impact. His confidence has really grown and he is now happily reading on his own – and enjoying it! Lucy listened to him read recently and was so proud at how amazing his reading was. He is now very fluent and reads tricky words without a problem. At a recent parents evening at school, his literacy teacher expressed how pleased she was with his effort and enthusiasm. Harry now works tremendously hard and gets good results. His reading is now above expectation for his age, and his spelling is right on target. Especially exciting was the revelation that Harry now has the confidence to read in front of his peers – he is always the first to put his hand up to read now!

Really enjoyed it so far

I think that we have really enjoyed the program so far. Georgia has enjoyed doing something regularly and I see in her that she is more ready to try and jump into decoding when reading.

Georgia’s review of Easyread

[Easyread] is teaching people to read but in fun games and I am finding it helpful because I am reading a bit quicker. I think that I am able to sound things out better.

My favourite game is spotter.

She’s positive about the programme

She’s still positive about the programme. She said to me today that she wants to get to turquoise at school by Christmas – which is 2 levels above what she is now and she thinks Easy read has helped her.

She loves the new found confidence!
