Parent Reviews of Easyread

Our most recent reviews:

No more dread of reading!

It is going well for Alex. His reading has improved. This happened at an early stage with the course. He has read aloud a few times at school and reported back that it had gone well. This would have filled him with dread before doing easy read. He is more confident and finds the lessons quick to do. He has not shown any more progress since his initial surge but it was such a marked improvement with his reading, maybe it is more gradual now and therefore less obvious.
He is reading more at home which is lovely to see.

It’s brilliant!

Dear David…

Dear David,

Thank you for the course I have really enjoyed it. It has really helped me and now i am reading proper books and finding it really fun.

I really like the games at the end of the lessons and I find letter quest the best.

Thank you for the prizes.

Elijah

He picked up a book on his own!

Z picked up a book on his own and read 4 stories in it! Before Easyread, I would have had to beg, borrow, and steal for him to even consider reading.

Easyread is quite special

Thank you for your time Sarah. Seems like this program is quite special and helping all of us feel positive.

I love it!

Dear Sarah,
Yes, I love it! It’s really helped me with reading, and I really like the presents that you sent me.
From Jordy

From Level 3 to Level 14 at school

He has recently been tested at school for his reading and has jumped from a level 3 reader to a level 14 which is really encouraging considering he had not moved for nearly 12 months prior to doing Easyread.

Reading is blossoming!

Theo is really blossoming in general with his reading and we are thrilled with that.
Theo is not having any more difficulty with the story than the games and is doing well in both. He is fluent in the text given immediately.

Huge improvement in his reading

We are really enjoying Easyread. We have seen a huge improvement in Thomas’ reading on the program and also in his school reading books. Thomas said ‘I can read faster now.’ I am very grateful for all that you are doing for us not only just running the program but sending messages and prizes and for your support with the eye tracking. There was a point when we first started reading the three little pigs story that we struggled a bit. Maybe we were a little unsure of some of the character symbols. We were taking the full 20 mins sometimes longer. Once we got used to them and became familiar with all of the games lessons became much swifter. He just clicks away with confidence now.

Ava has already moved up!

Ava told us this morning she has already moved up to her next reading colour at school (after 10 Easyread lessons) and she wants to get to chapter books.

Thank goodness we have found you – you are the answer to our pleas! Here’s hoping chapter books are awaiting!

Pure genius!

We think you are magical beings!!!! What you have done for Craig is just impossible to describe and I am so grateful that your solution was there for us. I think David is just a pure genius and Sarah you have been so supportive and patient with us all the way through.

Craig’s reading is incredibly fluent now – today he was reading a factual book to me and he read words like “artificial” and “synthetic” without even stopping to think. Its totally amazing the way you have transformed his reading…

Anyway, I would like to wish you every success with the continued development of Easyread. My sister is a primary six teacher at Craig’s school and is being challenged by a dyslexic student at the moment, so I might try and encourage her to get in touch about trialling it at our school. It seems so unfair that Craig has had this advantage and there are so many other struggling readers at the school that would undoubtedly benefit from Easyread and are currently being left behind.

Lots of love and thanks, thanks, thanks!

Dramatic reading improvements

My son Harrison has improved his reading abilities dramatically, thanks to your program. He is finding the lessons easy and prefers to read real books now!!

Now in the top reading group.

Carmelo has made amazing progress since starting EasyRead. He has gone from one of the lower reading groups in his class to the top group (in maths too)

Happy with the course so far

We are happy with the course so far. Jaclyn does not dread her lessons which is wonderful! She loves the extra games too. Thank you for the great course.

Very thankful to have found Easyread

We are very thankful to have found Easyread. Michael’s confidence has increased since starting. For a parent that is great to see.

So impressed with the support

I have been so impressed with the whole process and support so far. From the initial telephone consultation where you flagged possible issues Laurie may be dealing with that neither the paediatricians or school had picked up on, but on further investigation seem to fit his behaviour, ie possible auditory processing disorder.
Getting Laurie to do his daily Easyread hasn’t always been easy. His confidence is so low with regard to reading, and his concentration and short term memory is very limited but he is slowly, with lots of encouragement, seeing that when he tries he can do it. He loves the games, particularly the Shooting Range, and the type of games are so suited to him, as well as the brilliant prizes and encouraging messages from Easyread. The difference with what he can read when he is doing his favourite games is interesting.
He likes that he can change the size of text/colour etc as this puts him in control which is important to him.
We use the eyetracking games often and he loves these. He has been able to show some friends what he does on the computer and they thought it was ‘epic’ which gave him a real boost.
He is still really struggling blending words and without help I’m not sure he would be able to read the words. But at this stage I am working on building his confidence, making it fun and keeping it consistent, so we stick to doing it almost every day.
Laurie is only six at the moment and has subtle but complex learning needs (as well as being incredibly stong willed as David witnessed on the skype call!), so we are not expecting miracles, but strongly believe this is the right path to be taking and the easiest and most fun way for him start reading. The joy for me was that it gave us a structure to the long summer holidays, knowing he was doing some reading everyday, instead of getting a book out and try reading from that which ends up being incredibly stressful for both him and me.
David was brilliant on the skype call and gave me some really simple and helpful tips which made a big difference. I have been so grateful for all the support.
Thank you for all the help. I recommend you to everyone!

So glad we found it!

Noah still enjoys Jungle juggle. The sounding out of Easyread story is definitely getting easier. He would struggle a bit with new long words especially if there are only a few sounds but all in all he is managing well.
He loves the programme and never refuses to do it, in fact he often asks when are we doing it.
I am so glad we found it!

Really pleased with Hayley's progress

Thanks for your message. Six weeks in it would be fair to say that we are really pleased with Hayley’s progress. Since starting with Easy Read Hayley has received a school certificate for her efforts and progress in reading, and she remains enthusiastic to complete the lesson each day. We are continuing to reward her and give her lots of praise, and her confidence has certainly improved.

Suffice to say we are looking forward to her reading journey as she continues to progress through the lessons.

Really happy and can read better!

Dear David
I am really happy and now I am can read better. The bit I liked best was the reading and the jokes. I think my friends Layla and Merise liked it too!
I look to more facts and jokes.
From Kirsten

He NEVER did this before!

We are still enjoying the program and doing the lessons daily. Damian still looks forward to each lesson and I’m surprised that after 6 weeks he is as excited about it as he was when he first began.

We have noticed slight improvement in his reading, but the biggest change we can see is to his confidence! Damian has started reading signs!!! This is something he NEVER did before – almost as if previously he didn’t even recognise that signs contained letters to be read. He now attempts to read signs on the wall at the swimming pool, shopping mall, road and traffic signs, etc. He is finally recognising that they are there to be read and he is interested and confident enough to have a go!

Another thing I am now noticing is that when Damian writes something now (a few words, a friend’s birthday card, whatever) he is more aware of the fact that more than one letter can make a sound. He realises that he shouldn’t be spelling phonetically. He is asking for help to spell the words, but I’m still pleased to see that he is knows that sometimes it takes more than just an ‘o’ to make an ‘o’ sound, for example. Having said that, when he just wants to write a story and get all his ideas down on paper, he still reverts to phonetic spelling, but we are okay with that.

Thanks again for all the support.

Jumped 8 levels in only 65 lessons

Just wanted to let you know that we had a “Meet the Teacher night” at Natalie’s school yesterday as she has just started Grade 2. Her teacher remarked that she didn’t know what we did with Natalie over the summer but she’s gone from a reading at a level 1 at the end of Grade 1 to now a reading at a level 9. That’s basically going from reading like a kindergartener to reading like she is part way through grade 1. The best part is that this is with only having completed 65 lessons. At this rate she should be reading above grade level by the end of this school year! Thanks for such a great program. I’ll keep you informed!

He is enormously keen on Easyread!

Oscar THRILLED with the Spy Glasses ! Stood enthralled while I read the info that came with them ! Delighted in practising using them with friends and family this evening.

Oscar is so enormously keen to do your system. Every morning, he asks me if there is time for us to do the day’s lesson before school, and it’s one of the first things he asks to do when he comes out of school. He is so enthusiastic to do it, and finds the programme appealing, motivational, and sufficiently “easy” to maintain his confidence and enthusiasm.

Thank you !

Teacher gives all credit to Easyread!

I just wanted to let you know that I spoke to Josh’s teacher this morning and she confirmed that he has improved so much that his reading age is now 9 years and 2 months. He turned 9 last week so he is 2 months ahead which is fantastic!!!!!

She also gives all the credit for this to Easyread as she says she has never seen a child improve so much in just a few months!

Thanks so much for turning my little boy into a little boy who can now read!!!
