Alex is doing really well…

Alex is doing really well, and enjoying his lessons. He has already taken more interest in reading and making the right choices in decoding rather than guessing. Although he is still guessing it is getting less. Yesterday was a good one though a sign read Cooper & Sons Alex read it quickly and came up with Computer & Sons (rather than Suns)!

Message from Alex – he is really impressed so far!

Many thanks

His reading age has now gone up…

All is well, we have recently had the results of an InCAS test done on Harry his reading age has now gone up to Seven years 6 months, his age at time of test was 8 years 5 months. This is a vast improvement for Harry as this time last year his reading age was 5 years 5 months.

many thanks for all your support

Heather and Harry

James has really enjoyed doing Easyread…

James has really enjoyed doing easyread as it has fun, easy and the results have been fantastic.  Having gone from battling to make James even look at a book he quickly wanted to do his easyread each day. He is now very happy to read his school books and even asks to read more than he needs to which is an incredible.

So thank you so much, I shall recommend easyread to anyone who struggles with reading.

Kind regards

Rebecca

Ethan is progressing well…

Ethan is progressing well with the lessons. He finds the games and stories easy and therefore remains willing to spend the 15 minutes each day. We consider the program money well spent, and at last, feel hopeful that by next year he will be achieving at or beyond the average in literacy.

One year ago they struggled reading…

One year ago they struggled reading and it was very tough time for us. However now they are very able readers and read a long story books from school. Sorry, we have not had a time for easy read since September but they read a lot. We are very confident that they will be fine for reading. Hope you all well and good luck to your future.

His reading has improved hugely…

His reading has improved hugely and he is starting to take an interest in reading books on his own. It seems that his self esteem has improved as well. He is not as concerned about making mistakes and somehow it seems that his writing has improved as well.

Thanks so much….Jill

I did a spelling test…

I did a spelling test – Connor could spell the words with ch, sh and th – he could identify the sounds and how to spell them at the beginning of the word, in the middle or at the end.

I then found the hardest book on a reading scheme that we have – Ginn level 4 book 6. Both me and my husband were shocked at how well he read it – he built up some of the words but the only word he couldn’t get was ‘once’.

I have enjoyed the games…

I have enjoyed the games.
The lessons are nice and short. The prizes have been good especially the mp3 camera and I can’t wait for the helicopter that has kept me going when I’ve been tired.
The easyread has really hepled me with my reading which has improved so much.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I've notice a profound improvement…

Brandon seems to have stopped guessing and is finding sounding out the Easyread words much easier and has speeded up no end!

Over the last few days I’ve notice a profound improvement with Brandon’s reading and attitude to reading with regards school. He received his first ‘good reading’ sticker from school on Tuesday and over the last two nights he has asked to read to me – a first!! He’s even read from cover to cover a school book in one sitting!

Many thanks!

Vickie

I have been really pleased with the progress made…

I have been really pleased with the progress made so far, Logan happily does his lesson everyday.

He does not guess any longer but has occasionally taken to reading the word and as he has always been correct I have not stopped him. I have in fact taken this as a good sign. He 99 % of the time decodes all the words, and does so perfectly, i very rarely have any need to help him decode.

I am completely satisfied with the progress so far and would recommend anyone to use this system.

Alex has experienced a significant improvement…

As we are six weeks into the Easyread course I thought I would drop you a line to let you know how Alex is getting on. Alex has had lots of intervention at school but has never progressed far with his reading – in March he was on the 2nd percentile and as you can imagine his confidence was at rock bottom. However, since starting the Easyread programme Alex has experienced a significant improvement in his confidence, he is still finding “normal” reading difficult but he flies through his Easyread lessons and thoroughly enjoys them. I have noticed that he has become more interested in books and signs whilst we are out and he is starting to believe that reading is something that he will be able to do given the correct support and help.

Thanks

Fiona

I have spent years trying to help him understand…

I have spent years trying to help him understand the concept of reading. Letters make sounds, sounds make words. Something he couldnt grasp, just reading those two words unaided was an enormous leap for Charlie. He understands the concept and we are on the first rung of the ladder! I will sing the praises of your system to anyone who will listen.

Thanks
Caroline

This is a marvelous development…

I had a meeting last week with James new teacher now that he has moved up to Year 3.

She is so pleased with James and has confirmed that he has a reading age of a 10 to 11-year old. He is amongst the top readers in his class and in the top set for both free-reading and spellings.

Considering that James was at least a year behind his contemporaries when he commenced Easyread, this is a marvelous development in such a young child.

Kindest regards,

Pennie

Cal is really enjoying Easy read…

Cal is really enjoying Easy read and is growing in confidence with each new session – he is really getting a kick from it.

Thanks

Kevin

At present Olivia is still enjoying easyread…

At present Olivia is still enjoying easyread. Beacause the reading lessons only have short passages it doesn’t overwhelm her and get her stressed out which is great. She does sometimes complain about doing the Monkey spelling game at the start of the lesson so maybe a variety of activities there would keep her interest. (I personally like her doing the monkey game as she is a poor speller so it’s great for her to look at letter patterns).
The codeword rewards are great, that really keeps her going!!!

Jodie

We feel we have received a first-class service…

We feel we have received a first-class service from beginning to end. The communication has been excellent and the motivation with the prizes has always managed to brighten Luc’s day and give him a sense of achievement.

A big thank you to yourself and all your team. We have felt in very safe hands and supported all the way through.

I cannot tell you how delighted…

I cannot tell you how delighted my husband and I are at the progress the girls have made so far. Much praise has been given by their class teacher this year, its just a pity they were not given such positive encouragement by the teacher they had for the previous two years ! Onwards and upwards.

Kindest regards

Elise

Eleanor has made really great progress…

Eleanor has made really great progress with her reading, what a diffiance!
We are unable to use ‘easy read’ every day, which is a shame, with the the amount of school work and finding time to give her some time off from working so hard at school it has been difficult (She is reading daily) Eleanor is still keen to work on easy read and we never have trouble asking her early in the mornings to work on easy read, but only manage it some days, as a little tired some mornings.
Kind regards
Deborah

Caspers reading has improved so much…

Caspers reading has improved so much. He now is not scared to even try and read longer words. he also has a computer game were he can name certain things in the game and he will come to me asking me how to spell words. i think this is a good sign and i am pleased with his progress. he does occasionally still guess but i always remind him not to,…old habbits die hard!
best wishes,
Therese

I've found that his confidence with reading…

I’ve found that his confidence with reading the Easyread stories has greatly improved. He is fluent in using the scrambled text and it’s his preferred format!!

Brandon pretty much no longer guesses words, which has slowed him down, but because his reading is more accurate, he’s much less frustrated and enjoying the praise!

I’ve found that before school is definitely the best time to do a lesson. It’s now a routine that Brandon actually looks forward to doing especially the games at the end and the hope of a prize word!

We do like the fact that the colour can be changed on the story pages and with the games etc, plus the new skip button on Funky Monkey (time is sometimes of the essence!).

Brandon’s only compliant is that he hasn’t had any ‘highlighted’ words on the story for a while, when clicked on, it’s explained what the word means. But he absolutely LOVES receiving the spy gear through the post.

I’m overall really happy with Easyread and support network and would recommend to any parent – I understand that Brandon’s reading will not improve overnight, but his confidence has definitely grown and more importantly he enjoys it!

Many thanks

Vickie

Gus is going really well with the program…

Gus is going really well with the program. I am very happy with his progress. I have noticed that his ability to blend the sounds in a word has improved therefore making his reading more fluent and also his ability to anticipate what the next word is going to be when reading a story has also greatly improved also increasing his fluency.

I like that where Gus is up to in the program now that the picture text is absent unless clicked on, showing me that he is indeed able to read more independently than prior to commencing the program. It’s kind of like a little bit of magic is taking place.

Thanks Easyread! And thanks to David.

Cheers Jayne, Tania 🙂
