QUESTION 1) Are you seeing confidence and accuracy continuing to build in the lessons?
ANSWER – YES! He is trying new words and following thru new words with success in his regular reading. His reading assessment at school has increased by 4% compared to his last testing which is huge related to the regression he showed with his testing before we began this program. His overall confidence with reading is improving. We have begun a game where he spells out words in easy read characters and he makes me figure out what the message is. It’s definately helping his spelling and his writing is continuing to improve with more correct spellings instead of his made up words of what he thinks a word should be spelled.

David took some standardized tests that we recently received the scores for and his reading jumped to the 91% overall and his spelling grammar jumped to the 86%. I believe that this program has helped him. I do think he has some mild auditory processing issues and thus has taken a little more time than most. I have appreciated the spelling and the writing lab emphasis in the higher lessons. I plan on using your service for a few more months and see what happens. This program has been the best solution for us and we have seen improvement with David.

apologies – I completely forgot to reply to your message. Eye tracking has gone well and we still get him to do exercises now and then. He seems to have had a great breakthrough and is improving in fluency. He was given a book to read from school today, and while there were a couple of guesses and I dare say he was using memory some of the time as it was a rhyming book – he was using his finger to track the words mostly and I have never seen him do that before. We keep positively reinforcing him for his efforts in trying to remain positive in tackling Easy Read. He does not get much homework from his primary 5 teacher but his attitude has drastically improved. We no longer get any sort of tantrums – well not to do with reading!!! He definitely has made a major breakthrough though. Thanks to you and the wider team behind Easy Read for giving people the chance to overcome optilexia. I really don’t know what words to use that could come anywhere near expressing how much this has changed all of us for the better. We have such a renewed optimism and Aaron asked me if I would buy him a book for Christmas. I suggested that we could ask others to buy him books too but he did not like that suggestion – opting to stick with toys for the most. But he wants me to buy him a book – and that will be an absolute privilege. No-one could give me a better Christmas present than Aaron asking me for a book to read! Thank you.

I just wanted to let you know that school did a comprehensive reading assessment on Molly and couldn’t believe the improvement in just a few short months (since starting easyread!). She has gone from level 24 non-fiction/25 fiction to level 30 for both. The testing showed her reading, comprehension and inferential knowledge were all now well within range for her year level rather and so improved from prior to easyread. To hear this is great, but to hear Molly say she really loves to read now is the best. So thank-you, thank-you!
