Parent Reviews of Easyread
Our most recent reviews:
He made a LOT of progress
Cooper was willing to complete daily lessons with weekends off. He did not complain about the course which is good and means he liked it. Daily school homework was NOT as favorable. š He also preferred Easy Read to his school tutoring sessions and we believe that Easyread helped far more than the schools efforts to improve his reading. They have a set program which tends to focus more on speed of reading w/out errors and comprehension. While Cooper really needed to slow down and sound out the words.
Cooper’s reading levels in school improved over the school year by 6 levels (while the average is 3-4) so he made a LOT of progress. He is able to read his own homework (such as math problems) while at the start of the school year, he needed help. His teacher also stated that he has developed strong methods for comprehension despite missing many words.
Thanks for all you do!
Jonathan completed all of the lessons and riddles today. I am sending the codeword WATER. I see a lot of improvement even with him taking an extended break and coming back to it. I am proud of him for finishing and thankful that Easyread has given him this opportunity to be successful. Thank you for all you do!
A message from Rachel
Hello David and Easyread staff,
I have a message from Rachel. She LOVES Easyread and wanted to know if you have a level 6 or 7! She does want to continue with level 5 story, but we are going to take several weeks break so she can enjoy the rest of her summer break from school.
Rachel also says she LOVES the games, jokes and especially the RIDDLES in Level 4. As her mom and coach, I think she has probably enjoyed the Level 4 format the most of all.
The timing of her last lesson should be Tuesday, July 8, and it is perfect. We have been invited to spend the night at a friend’s beach house, so we will be celebrating Rachel’s accomplishment in the sand and surf. She can have any dessert she wants, even before the meal!
We have been working with this since September, so you can imagine the joy and accomplishment we feel. While Rachel does still struggle at times to put sounds together in multi-syllable words, such as articulated, I know that Easyread has helped her because she can do it if she slows down and works it out. More importantly, Rachel ENJOYS reading books.
I have told so many other parents about Easyread and I hope they follow through with viewing your website. We are extremely pleased to recommend your program and have never doubted the investment for Rachel’s future.
Happy Reading to you all!
Doing really well and still motivated
Chayse is doing really well with the stories. He is still very motivated to do the lessons. We are seeing a huge difference in his reading already, but know we still have a way to go yet. He also re-reads each phrase 3 times, so that we can work on the fluency. Each time he re reads it he gets more fluent. I am also very surprised to see that he seems to remember most of the phrase from the day before’s decoding. I think that because he can see improvement in his reading, that he is motivated to keep going.
We are all really pleased!
He’s doing really well. We are all really pleased — he is reading almost fluently and has been reading Sam Silver books by himself. Slowly but surely he is making progress!
We have not been as regular as we should have been recently with our Easyread, the world cup/tennis and loads of events at school have been taking him away but he seems to continue to make steady progress, even reading players names etc!
His teacher is also pleased with his progress! I will feedback when I get his report!
I will read a book a night!
Easyread has helped me read better and now I will try to read a book a night thanks David for your help I have appreciated it, from Finn.
Astonishing 19 months reading age gain
Thought you’d be delighted (but probably not surprised!) to hear that Craig achieved a reading age of 8 in a test last week at school. Over 4 months of doing Easyread his reading age has increased an astonishing 19 months! Your programme is totally amazing and you guys should be so proud of what you are doing. I wish every child could access it.
Thank you again!
Absolutely fabulous to see!
Joe is on about lesson 60 or so and today I found out from his teacher that he has gone up three levels in reading from Term 1, week 10 when his report came out to now Term 2, week 6 – so in only 6 weeks of school time but in 60 Easyread lessons (we started over the school holidays). He has shot up three whole levels. She was amazed at his progress.
I have to say his confidence and belief in himself in his reading and spelling ability is absolutely fabulous to see. He is not scared to read longer words and is no longer guessing. He is happy to take on much more complicated text. I am so thoroughly impressed and happy that we made the decision to start Easyread, i can almost see his brain being re-programmed daily.
He is still happy to do his Easyread every day, although being quite an imaginative boy he is finding the troll quite scary!
Continued improvement…
Elijah continues to improve in his reading – I don’t see any signs of guessing but I will keep my eyes open for it. I have noticed that he gets tired by the end of the longer lesson but his capable of doing it. He definitely finds the written words easier than the easy read characters which I am guessing is encouraging!
At grade level!
We think the system is great – upon our move to USA last year our youngest was reading at grade level (grade 3) and I put that entirely down to Easy Read.
Our eldest (who has dyslexia) still reads only at grade 2 level (she is retaking grade 5) but even that was really great progress as she is far more fluid and plus she spells much better. Meanwhile she now reads at grade level in Swedish and I think that Easy Read has helped with that because she really understands now about sounds and that they map to letters.
Fun and motivating
Dear Mr. Morgan,
After a two year break I have come back and started working on Easyread again. It is much easier now than it was before. I am a much better reader than I was when I did it when I was younger. My favorite part of Easyread is the games. I especially like Fighter Mission and Pinball. If there is more to do in the Easyread program I would like to keep doing it because it is fun and motivating.
Thank you.
Excellent job!
I am grateful to you and your team for the excellent job that has been done. I am happy with his progress. S’s reading skills improved noticeably since beginning the Easyread programme. Our teachers give us a very good feedback regarding his reading and comprehension skills.Ā He has gained much more confidence in his overall study at school.
We are ready to continue our journey with you and happy to proceed
to Spellmagic programme.
What's going to fill the Easyread hole!
We really are coming up the end now having almost finished spell magic too! I’m not sure what’s going to fill the Easyread hole!!
I am just so happy that we stumbled across the Easyread system…
As a parent of a reluctant reader, who was falling badly behind at school, I am just so happy that we stumbled across the Easyread system in 2012. My son took to the programme very quickly, enjoying the manageable 15 minutes a day on the computer that was recommended. Within a very short time his attitude became more positive and his teachers noticed a vast improvement in his reading ability. He loved the surprise rewards that regularly arrived in the post and the big ‘prize’ at the end of the course amazed and delighted us both! But the biggest prize of all was that I now have a happy nine year old whose reading is fantastic! Thank you David and team for your fantastic support, I am glad to recommend and endorse the easyread programme.
Regards
Polly G
I have absolutely no reservations in endorsing the Easyread system
Good news is he received his first above age…
Good news is he received his first above age appropriate in a school report for reading and comprehension last week:-)Kind regards

Thank you for a wonderful time doing easy read…
Thank you for a wonderful time doing easy read. I love all the code words and getting the prizes. I loved the riddles. It was really fun to work them out. My favourite story was Grace’s house but I want to know what the key is for.

I am really impressed with the quality of attention…
Thank you for these tips, Mary has started doing the exercises already and we are in negotiations about what the prize will be once she completes the cycle!
I am really impressed with the quality of attention Mary is receiving, it is so personalised. Thank you once again.
Best wishes,
D
Comprehension is now above average
We loved Easyread and we feel that his decoding has improved. He tested above grade level in reading. He still has trouble decoding names of any kind (people, states, countries…), but his comprehension is above average in what he reads.
Thank you for following up with us!
We’d love if he could practice on Easyread occasionally.
H’s story + a fun phonics dinner game!
Just hot off the press: an inspiring Easyread testimonial complete with fun dinner game recommendation that help with phonics and spelling!
Just some quick feedback regarding H’s progress. We have seen a big change in H’s approach to reading. He now tries to work out a word by looking at the sounds and rarely if ever guesses. Occasionally he will make a guess, when he is rushing, but he will always stop himself because he knows it’s not right, go back over the word and try to sound it out. His approach to reading has definitely changed. He is now trying to read words all around him – on cereal packets, menus, magazines. This is something he would never have done 6 weeks ago and if asked to try to read something (beyond his school book) he would have become quite agitated and given up before he had even started. H’s teacher commented just recently that he is very good at recognising blended sounds in words, like ‘cr’ and ‘tr’ and ‘st’.
Today we played a game when we were in a restaurant. His dad wrote down all the letters of the alphabet and his older brother did the same. They were then asked to write down a word for each letter of the alphabet. H did this very successfully with 3 and 4 letter words and made very good attempts at longer words, by sounding out the words. It looks like Easyread is helping H to become a successful speller too.
I think we caught H early enough to stop his habit of guessing words becoming too ingrained. H continues to enjoy Easyread and we will definitely continue with the programme to ensure his new approach is well and truly ingrained.

Positive feedback!
Hi! We have missed a few days on the program and done some more work on memorizing the characters which has helped BOTH of us š
I spoke to his teacher the other day she said that she has already noticed an improvement with his phonics and decoding skills! I was so happy to get some positive feedback!

14 months gain in 6 months of lessons! – Thorndown Primary
Hi Sarah
I thought I would let you know, as you enquired, that C has gone up by 14 months in his reading age since January on a recent assessment. It’s great to know it’s working!

Really pleased at Churchfield Church School
Hi Sarah,
I’m really pleased with Jack’s progress – he’s made the ‘jump’ to the Ungar story without problems. It will be touch and go as to whether he’ll finish the program by the 22nd July but we’ll do our best!

Can't believe the difference
Dear David, Sarah and Laura,
Iām sorry that we havenāt been in touch since our helicopter arrived, but finishing EasyRead coincided with us moving again (this time into our āforeverā house as Bethan calls it) and the last couple of months have been a bit manic.
I wanted to write and thank you for all your support over the last 9 months or so. I canāt believe the difference in Bethan, she is a completely new child. Last year, she didnāt really enjoy school, hated reading, had low self-confidence and would do anything to avoid picking up a book. She is now the eager, enthusiastic child that I sent to school in Reception. She also now voluntarily reads by herself and I was really pleased when I ācaughtā her reading one of the chapter books we normally read together at bedtime. Iāve got a photo which Bethan said I could send to you ā could you please remind me of your ānormalā email address so that I can attach it?
However, the reason Iāve been prompted to write now is that last week Bethan came home from school and she was so chuffed. She had been āpromotedā to lime (stage 12) books! Last September, when Bethanās confidence was returning she told her teacher and me that she wanted to be on lime books by the end of year 2. I remember her teacher being a bit measured, saying that it would be brilliant, but it might not happen until juniors. She has told everyone we know and was desperate for me to email you too.
Her writing is also coming on, in January she was a level 1b, a teacher says that she is now at a 2b/2a level and although she is as not as confident in her spelling (and is still reversing short words like ātoā which becomes āotā) she can now recognise the sounds and will normally choose the correct sound for a word, even if it is not the correct version of it. (e.g. choosing ai for a_e words). She still gets frustrated with her writing, but I think it will improve over time. School are also encouraging her to keep a word book and use the computer to help her.
Sorry that it has turned into a bit of an essay, but I wanted to say a proper thank you as it has really given Bethan a jump start in life.
Many thanks.
