We're at Lesson 60 now and he still gets a daily buzz out of what he calls his "Spy Code Pages"…

We’re at Lesson 60 now and he still gets a daily buzz out of what he calls his “Spy Code Pages” – oh the excitement of decoding something that Daddy and his brother/sister can’t fathom!

The “little & often” aspects of the programme have been particularly appealing – the impact on our day is minimal and with Joshie’s unceasing enthusiasm for Easyread we’ve managed to do a lesson almost every day. Far better for his learning style than visiting a tutor once a week. The prizes have been an inspired aspect of the programme, especially in the early stages. Really helped him buy into the whole Easyread concept.

We were locked out once for taking too long which Josh found quite worrying. But on the plus side, that experience has sharpened him up when we’re decoding – he zips along to stop it ever happening again. I particularly like the way that I’ve been supported and “trained” by you to help Josh. It’s been wonderful to know I’ve not been taking him on this journey in isolation.

We were fully aware that changes in normal reading weren’t expected until Lesson 90. Yet progress has been visible here for several weeks now – and that’s in a 5 year old with sensory and concentration issues. It may be subtle progress but to us it’s astounding. He’ll spontaneously pick up his school reading books and decode away. He seems to have lost all “fear” of sentences, he’ll sound out the words on signs in shop, and spelling is becoming interesting. He self corrects about 60% of the time as he reads which is a joy to watch and he’s making clear connections between words and sounds that are spelled one way but pronounced another, like “what”.

We were hitting a complete brick wall with this before Easyread. We’re still dealing with very basic reading books, but he’s getting a taste of success like never before and I’m sure Easyread will be the key that unlocks literacy for him.
Many thanks,

-Sarah

Azuka is doing amazingly well…

Azuka is doing amazingly well. We are doing everything you tell us to, and it is working well for him. He reads the story, sounds it out in his head and then says the word out loud once he knows what it it. So pleased.

Arun has read his first chapter book all on his own…

I wanted to let you know that Arun has read his first chapter book all on his own. He has read books of this length before for school – but this has been the first time he has picked up his own book and read it off his own back! I really feel that we have turned a corner and Easyread has found Arun a pathway. Thank you so much. We are continuing with the program. It is nice to see that there is a little twinkle in his eye when we tell him that it is bedtime – he then wants to read…

My reading has really come along since I started…

My reading has really come along since I started. I couldn’t believe I got up to level 7 on Assessor Wizard. I concentrated really hard, much more than I did on the other tests. I think it is really important to concentrate on tests as well as to have fun. Easyread is fun. It helps me concentrate and I think Easyread is one of the best things to help you read. I’m finding I’m really improving. I hope lots of other kids find it the same way too.

I think Easyread is GREAT…

I think Easyread is GREAT for helping children to read.
I have really enjoyed doing it.Thanks a lot for teaching me. Happy xmas. And thanks again for everything.

We are very satisfied with the program…

We are very satisfied with the program and we have seen substantial improvement in Oliver’s reading both in and out of Easyread. Oliver likes the program and is motivated by the prizes. It has been very satisfying for us as parents to have a system at home to help Oliver. It works! Thank you.

Easyread has really helped…

Thank you for the presents. Easyread has really helped and I like the way you do it because it is different from books and the games are fun. I hope you help more children to read. I’m really enjoying it.

What a dramatic improvement…

We are coming to the end of the course and I have to say, what a dramatic improvement in Mya’s reading ability. She has now moved up into a reading group at school that is ability to age scale. Mya’s reading ability matched her age exactly on the scale. I would certainly say that the last couple of months it has just taken off. It is so rewarding to hear her read aloud from a book with ease.

I would be very happy to recommend the course if you have any potential clients that have any doubts.

I continue to be very happy with Easyread…

I continue to be very happy with Easyread and Madison is making good progress. She particularly likes the format of the program – where she plays a game, does some decoding/reading and plays another games. My 6 year old is very jealous of the games and is desperate to try Easyread! Many thanks for your continued support.

Our son's reading has been improving since starting Easyread…

Our son’s reading has been improving since starting Easyread. Noah went from struggling to remember sounds and how they “work” to actual reading! His confidence has improved tremendously and his fear is diminishing. Thank you David, Laura and the Easyread crew.

We would highly recommend Easyread to any parent with a struggling reader. It works! We tried everything and spent way too much money on gimmicky reading programs-Easyread unlocked the door, and our son started reading, sounding out words, connecting ideas. Thank you again Easyread.

I am really exited that i can read and now start having a normal life…

“i started when i was 9, and now i am 10. I am really excited that i can read and now start having a normal life. with love ariaana”

I can’t believe it’s over! Easyread has been part our lives for over a year and even though we are glad to have completed the course, we are going to miss it too. Carlos and I were very moved by Ariaana’s letter to you. She’s not usually so forthcoming. It is a testament to the great support you have been to her in our most difficult time. I also have to thank you for being there as a lifeline for all of us. As we came to terms with Ariaana’s learning difficulties, it was a source of hope to know that she was getting concrete help through Easyread. We are now savoring the victory.
Thanks will all our hearts,
-Yolanda and Carlos

Some good, no, GREAT news…

Some good, no, GREAT news is that yesterday as Liam was reading, he stopped, looked at me with a big smile and said, “Hey , I’m reading!” It was quite remarkable as I could tell also that there was something a little different about his reading yesterday. It came just that much easier than it has in the past. So that’s great, and I just love this program!

After a tricky start H is now…

After a tricky start H is now very motivated by Easyread and he is over the moon with his prizes! He is enjoying the games very much, he does need help with the story but we are not worried about his tracking, it’s more the guessing of words that he resorts to. He is practsing the sound cards every day though and this is helping with his decoding.
He is another boy, who like D and C, has experienced a lot of failure with reading and so he can be rather negative at times – thank goodness we’ve discovered ‘Easy read’! We’re going to start introducing it to some of our younger pupils in the next financial year so that they don’t get to the stage where they are disillusioned with reading.

Many thanks
K

Rosa's reading is still coming along really well…

Rosa’s reading is still coming along really well. In her last message to you, Rosa told you that she was on Purple level and hoping to get to Gold level. She has now flown through Gold Level very quickly and is reading White Level books very easily. She loves reading, takes books with her everywhere and is so much more confident about everything – it has been just wonderful!
Many thanks again for all that Easy Read has done for Rosa. She really is like a different child!

I am very happy with the comprehensive support you have provided…

I am very happy with the comprehensive support you have provided. I have certainly felt that if I have had any questions, comments or complaints then I would be listened to by friendly and responsive staff.

Isaac’s confidence has improved as has his desire to read independently however the greatest difference is that he appears to be reading normally now, with normal mistakes and fluency, instead of that confusing combination of the spuriously outstanding and the spectacularly awful (a symptom, as I now understand, of his visual reading and guesswork).

With respect to motivation, the selection of rewards and their timing has been nigh on perfect.

It has exceeded my expectations…

Overall I am pleased with the first 6 weeks of the Easyread course. It has exceeded my expectations.

Despite an age difference of more than 4 years, my 2 children are excited to discuss the program with each other. They are great at reviewing the characters together outside of lessons and encouraging each other to keep trying hard.

Homeschooling a child with reading difficulties, especially dyslexic difficulties can become tedious at times. I find that Easyread has simplified the area of language arts for us by taking the hard bits and putting it into a simple, easy to follow, fun lesson, which leaves room for us to enjoy the rest of our school day without being worried that we’ve missed something. Its amazing to me how 15 minutes of the Easyread program contributes to the structure of our day and keeps things on track!

I’m extremely happy with the level of extra support you give when these difficulties are noticed by you or expressed by myself. Most of all I am ecstatic over Katie’s increased confidence at trying new books from our local library and that she isn’t shying away from reading them aloud to me anymore! Prior to beginning the program she was unable to read pre-school level readers and is now reading at grade level with room to improve!

As I’ve said before I cannot express how much I appreciate that someone noticed these roadblocks in literacy and then devoted their life to developing tools to get over them. I know that if my children were attending school they would likely never have reached their full potential in reading and writing.

Thank you for your continued support. I can’t wait to see where we’re at when the course is over!

Please quote anything you like 🙂

Easyread is an incredible programme…

Easyread is an incredible programme. It was lots of hard work but, wow, the transformation in Sam. It is not just his reading that improved. He is a happier, little boy. He is the youngest of his year, but he no longer struggles in his peer group. Every morning, Sam and I, cuddle up and read before he goes to school. He loves reading; he laughs at the jokes, talks about the story.

When I think back, before Easyread, the whole reading experience was miserable and fraught.

Yep, a big thank you.

-Catherine

We are pleased with Alex's progress…

We are pleased with Alex’s progress. Although he doesn’t choose to read for pleasure his reading has improved enormously. He can read his school worksheets rather than having to have them read to him which was exactly the target I wanted to achieve for year 3.

He still has a little way to go but it’s just practice he needs now and he’ll get there. I can’t imagine ever getting to this point without Easyread. Before your program, book reading was so stressful for Alex and frustrating for us that we’d all come to dread reading time. Easyread has changed all that. Although reading is still hard work for Alex he can do it and doesn’t resist it anymore.
Thanks,

-Sue

I am very happy that I got my prize…

Dear David

I am very happy that I got my prize.

My favourite game was Spotter, because I liked looking at the pictures and getting a good score. I like the Ungar story the best, because I liked the way they invented the machines. My reading has got much better, because I can do much more fluid reading. I can now read long stories in bed at night time. I have now read The Secret Seven, and Return to Hundred Acre Wood and all the Winnie the Pooh stories. Thank you for all your help.
