Big improvements in spelling…
Amy is doing well with the decoding pages in the lessons and when reading regular text her decoding has improved hugely as well. She still often passes over some small words (then/when, this/his) however she does now self correct with these much more. Also we have already seen big improvements in spelling, although a lot more to go I hope!

Thank you for your wonderful program…
I have already noticed a huge improvement in Thomas’s spelling on a day to day basis. When we started the program it would have been easier to count the words without a mistake, whereas now he is producing written work in a timely fashion and to an acceptable standard. He still lacks confidence and tends to try to write a story limited to words he thinks he can spell!! Teacher must be bored silly!!! The improvement does not really translate to the spelling tests, you are right about that, but who cares! Not really part of anyone’s life post school is it. Thomas and I are keen to try the next phase and we thank you for your wonderful program and the wonderful support we receive.
She is reading for pleasure now…
Chelsea is doing great! She is reading for pleasure now. She read for 2 hours one day last week. I just had her parent – teacher conference tonight and she is reading at grade level.

He surprised me…
Just wanted to thank you for latest prize; the digital binoculars. Cameron was very impressed. The lessons are obviously harder and longer now than a few weeks ago but Cameron says he wants a challenge! I really liked the Wordmash game to help his fluency. I was worried he wouldn’t be able to do it with the timer on but he surprised me and got 5/5!

This would not be the case without your fantastic program…
I just wanted to let you know the good news. I received a phone call from George’s teacher this morning who was thrilled with a reading assessment that George had on Monday. At the start of 2012, George was tested on 2 paragraphs of text from year 3 (approx. 8 yr olds) and he made 20 mistakes without even realising it. George’s comprehension of the text was also poor. George has just been tested on year 6 text (12yr olds-his year level) and only got 2 words wrong which he self-corrected immediately without being told, bringing his overall score to 98%. George’s comprehension was 90%. I am absolutely thrilled by these results and would like to say a BIG thank you, as both the teacher and I are aware that this would not be the case without your fantastic program. Thank you so much!!!

Holly says: "Easyread is really amazing and is really helping me"…
I am generally very impressed with Easyread and have certainly seen an improvement in Holly’s reading since we started using the system. She is very confident when reading during the lessons and she never complains or argues when we say it is time to do her lesson. I recently let Holly do a lesson in front of her grandparents. They saw Holly carry out a practice lesson before we signed up to Easyread and they were amazed by the development they saw in her. We are looking forward to seeing the improvement roll out into Holly’s reading in general.
Holly says that “Easyread is really amazing and is really helping me”.
I like the motivational code words; it means there is something to look forward to. I like the fact that there is regular feedback and monitoring built into the system-it helps to personalise it.

We can see a big difference…
Oliver is doing well. His decoding is now great and after 6 weeks on the course we can see a big difference in his confidence. He now tries to read questions by himself, which he has never done before.

We are sorry it's over!
Great news Callum has completed the course and is looking forward to the postman arriving! Callum will always be dyslexic but easy read has brought his reading on so much. Thank you and your team. We are so grateful. The progress over the last year has been such a relief to see. In a strange sort of way Callum is quietly disappointed that easy read is finished!
Next time we on holiday down your way we will definitely like to pop in!
Kind regards,
K (Callum, age 11)
I am going to be sad to leave…
I am going to be sad to leave and happy at the same time. I loved the games Randomizer and Letter Quest and I am really going to miss them…but I had a lot of fun doing easyread. love ellie mae.
She can see her own improvement…
Hello,
We have been very happy with Easyread so far! Mimi is reading so much better and with a lot more confidence. She is very enthusiastic about doing her lesson everyday and looks forward to moving on. She can see her own improvement as of yet so she knows that she will become that much stronger and is very willing to put in the effort. My husband and I are happy because we see Mimi’s improvement in reading as well as how much more confident she is. She will now go read books for fun which was something that she totally avoided not that long ago! Thank you!
Sincerely,
J
I would never have believed this possible before Easyread…
Joseph is reading so well now, and has been doing so for some time. We are delighted. This has made an enormous difference to his confidence, and gave him the best possible start when he went up to junior school in September. At his last school there was a real loss of confidence as a result of the fact he was failing. At long last he can leave that experience behind him.
Joseph attempts to read even very complex words. He has recently started learning French and has found he is able to recognise a word written in French from its sound. I would never have believed this possible in the spring before he started Easyread.
P.S. The fart machine you sent him went down a storm!
Many thanks, and all the very best to you all.

Guessing less and less…
Rosie is still enjoying Easyread and the guessing is getting less and less. She re-reads the story until it is correct and she loves Fighter Mission, it is her favourite game.

She has gone up 3 levels in the 6 weeks we have been doing Easyread…
Just wanted to let you know that Sarah skipped a level in reading at school today and moved up 2 levels. This makes it 3 levels in total that she has gone up in the 6 weeks we have been doing Easyread. She is reading this new level with confidence and relatively good fluency. She even reads it with expression 🙂

Easyread is our special time. I don't dislike anything about the system…
Seren really loves the Easyread method. We do it as soon as we wake up so nothing else can interfere. Seren usually bounces in to say “Easyread time”! I very rarely have to encourage her and if a small incentive is offered it usually does the trick. She loves attention, so I make Easyread our special time. She always sits on my knee to do it, and we cuddle whilst she reads.
I have noticed a vast improvement in her confidence in the six weeks since we started doing the Easyread System. In fact, she now tries to read on her own! She has always loved books, but never before now attempted to read them. Now I can often hear her sounding out the words to herself when she is looking at them. She has also started proudly reading signs and packages around us. Shopping has become a magical experience for her.
She has started wanting to write things too, for example she loves writing riddles. Yesterday she even asked if she could write a story. These are both milestones that indicate that she now feels she can read, since she has moved to a position to have the confidence to succeed with reading and writing. I am so pleased.
I like the use of characters above the phonemes-this is something I knew Seren would particularly respond to. I also like very much that because you have characters for the more complex phonemes, you are not restricted to simple words within the system. This makes not only for more stimulating stories, but the child gets used to dealing with more difficult words straight away without fear. This ensures that they won’t get scared off by difficult words later. They will simply have the courage to tackle them using the decoding skills they have learned.
Seren particularly values the motivational gifts through the post. She also likes the little notes to her that arrive with them. She really enters into the spirit of being a spy!
The notebook gift in particular, was inspired and was the starting point for her in wanting to write things. Seren and her sister became curtain twitchers for a couple of days while they spied on all the neighbours. We now have notes on all their comings and goings!
The word building games are really good-again the use of characters for more complex phonemes gives a more diverse activity than just changing or adding one letter. This gives a better understanding of how to choose the correct spelling for a word from the choice of possible phonemes and should produce fruit later. Seren really enjoys all the games, especially Pinball and Fighter Mission.
I don’t dislike anything about the system. I work in a school and have seen various literacy improvement computer programmes and other intervention systems. They all have their place, however this is definitely the best for home use. I particularly like that it makes the child start again if they get things wrong so that they really have to get to grips with things. This also means that the basics are established correctly.
I have told the SENCO at school about it and I am sure that if Seren keeps up this level of enthusiasm, she will want further info in future.

AMAZING!!!
AMAZING!!! My husband and I had the quarterly parent teacher meeting today. Reading levels are by the letters of the alphabet. A,B,C,D,E and such. Hunter started the school year off in LEVEL D level. He is supposed to read at level I. We were told by his teacher today that he has jumped all the way from a D level to H. We feel this progress in his reading is because of his hard work with Easyread. We knew he could do it. We just needed to find the right tools to get him there and Easyread is that tool.
Thanks from the very proud parents of Hunter.

Case Study: Dyslexia, tears, reading failure…
7 year old Francis is dyslexic. Testing had revealed significant phonological and auditory processing problems and a shockingly low working memory capacity. What the test did not measure, was his terror when it came to reading a book.
Daily intervention for Francis’ reading and writing at school and at home for over a year failed to achieve a significant improvement.
Tessa dreaded the daily tears that were associated with the journey to school. She would describe the whole process as being nothing short of “torture” for both of them.
Before breaking up for the summer holidays this year, Francis’ class was asked to complete a reading test. The test required each child to read 40 words unaided. The aim was for each child to correctly identify at least 32 of the words, to confirm that they were on target. Francis managed to read just 2 of the words.
Tessa decided that a different approach was needed and came across Easyread on the Internet.
Francis responded instantly to the shortness of the lessons, the interactive nature of the games and the positive momentum throughout. She found the coaching provided by David Morgan and his team clear, straightforward and thorough.
In just a few months Francis went from being a boy devoid of confidence and unable to read, to an Easyread superstar! Already he was showing vast improvements in his sound recognition, decoding, encoding, reading and spelling skills.
Intrigued to see what would happen, Tessa ran the same test with Francis that he had completed in June. After 16 weeks on the Easyread course Francis had gone from a 5% success rate to 75%.
Given his diagnosis of dyslexia Tessa thought Francis would inevitably still need support for spelling. However Francis’ spelling had shifted from being atrocious to satisfactory for a child his age.
This all culminated in a very special item, which Francis brought home from school. His teacher had presented him with a postcard that showed a dragon spewing fire, and the words ‘good reading!’ spelled out in the flames. As an avid dragon enthusiast, Francis could not have been more proud!
As for Tessa, her comment on Easyread was “as a parent, knowing what you need to do and how you need to do it couldn’t be easier on this program.”
The convenience of the system has also been a huge factor: “It is fantastic that the lessons are limited to 10 to 15 minutes, as even a working parent like me can make time for a daily session”.
Of course Francis still has a way to go on his Easyread journey, but Tessa feels safe in the knowledge that they are finally heading in the right direction.

It's fun, easy and engaging…
We have found the Easyread System to be good so far. It is easy to fit in and Anya finds it fun and engaging.

I am still shocked…
Thanks for all the help. She is still improving at a pace that I am still shocked by. It’s marvellous!

Incredible progress
Izzy is coping incredibly well with Level 3 – her reading is improving by the day now. She now reads fluently with all shorter words, and quite a few bigger words too – today she read a page of her school reader, she read around 10 lines of text and all words except three were fluently read, some words that I know she hasn’t come across before, but she is recognising cluster sounds and just reading the word instead of sounding it out. She’s doing incredibly well.

Harry Potter here we come!
Glenn has begun reading a Harry Potter book. And he said he wants everyone to know this. He said doing Easyread has helped him learn how to sound out words and decode. So he can read Harry Potter. I am very excited about this. He said he though he was dumb and could not read Harry Potter books. But now he can sound out and decode, and if a word is very difficult, he looks it up in the dictionary.
Now, he says he can read words faster on a different color. And he does. When we put a red, see-through, plastic paper cover over the words and he used a book marker to help with tracking, he simply reads.
Thank God for Easyread!

I would have to say it has been wonderful!
To review Easyread so far, I would have to say it has been wonderful. We are 6 weeks in and I see results!
My son is in 2nd grade and started the year out failing reading. His first tests in reading were graded at 47%, 35%. By week 4 of Easyread he was up to 68% and 76%. By 6 weeks his average for reading is a 89% with 100% on the last 2 reading tests.
He has gone from crying and frustration at just pulling out a book to smiling and reading 30-40 page books in less than 15min!! I could not ask for more this program has been easy enjoyable for him! Confidence is key and he now feels much more confident and even reads to his 4 year old brother.
In regards to Nathan rereading for fluency, he started the Three little pigs and had to reread 4-5 times before he was fluent. Now he may have to reread once. WOW! is all I can say.
Thank you so much for this wonderful program. It is costly but priceless to see my child succeed!

My reading has got much better…
I really like Easyread when I am not tired. I like getting prizes when I do Easyread. My reading has got much better than when I started Easyread. My mum wanted me to do this so she could see what I found hard. My favourite thing in the lessons were the jokes. They made me and my mum laugh. They were good jokes!
Love from Lisa xxx (age 7)
I like Easyread more than I like to play with my friends at school…
Seren wanted to send you a message. So here it is:
I like Easyread more than I like to play with my friends at school. It’s really good to help me learn to read. I like trying to read books and signs and packets now. I like school more now, because I don’t feel I can’t do it any more. I’m getting new funky tinted glasses now as well. And they are cool.
My favourite game is spying with the special agent stuff that you’ve sent me.
Thank you.
P.S. She told me how to spell some of the words in the message, so she was obviously reading along with my typing for her!

He is improving every single day…
Such great news that Benjamin has reached the next level in the Spelling Assessor. We are really enjoying this part of the course and feel that he is improving every single day. I am hoping that these story sessions go on forever..?!
