Dear David

Dear David,

I am writing to let you know how pleased I am with myself knowing I have achieved my gold certificate.

I now can read really well and much more fluently. I sometimes get stuck on some words when reading my own books but I can usually work out what they say.

I am much more confident in reading than I used to be and have read some good books lately.

Successful for my boy

Thank you for your support during the Easy Read journey. It has definately been successful for my boy.

Really applicable techniques

Sarah,
Thank you for your expertise and insight into our boys’ reading progress. I came away from the lesson [over Skype] feeling really encouraged. You gave us some really applicable techniques that I plan to implement right away. It feels good to have a plan that we can actually be working on to enhance their reading. Thank you for giving us so much time. Jane

He's gained a year in 3.5 months!!

Just wanting to let you know that Josh’s reading has improved by 12 months and we have only been doing Easyread for 3.5 months! Absolutely amazing!!!!!

Thanks once again.

Daniel has drastically improved

Daniel has now completed the EasyRead programme.
Thank you so very much for helping him with his reading which has now drastically improved, not least of which with his confidence.
He now really loves reading and is ‘devouring’ books at home according to his mum!

Thanks again!

An AMAZING difference at Vallajeelt School

Hi there!
Juan has now completed his Easy Read programme. I believe he is also doing the ‘extra’ sessions that come after the programme has finished.

He has thoroughly enjoyed it and it has made an AMAZING difference to his reading in class. He says a big Thank You and so do I!

Case study: Anger, Failure, Reading Refusal

Hard Thinker

Will used to hate books and refuse to read. Once he started struggling in school, he turned from a happy chappy into an angry school-hater. One year in to his education, everything changed…

BEFORE: Before Easyread, Will was at least a year behind his peers in literacy. At age 6, he could not blend words and struggled even on short common words, like ‘on’ or ‘the’. Every time he tried to read he would grow very tired and angry. He absolutely hated reading. At school, he was in the bottom group for every subject and it had a dramatic effect on his confidence. He felt stupid, and was being picked on by his classmates who all seemed to find it so easy.

THE EASYREAD SOLUTION: Will’s mother found Easyread, and from day 1 his confidence increased slowly but surely. Will thoroughly enjoyed Easyread, and it quickly became a part of his daily routine as it only took a few minutes each day. Within a few weeks, he gradually read more and more, whereas before he refused to try. Another significant change came when the Easyread team picked up on some eye-tracking weakness. He did the exercises Easyread prescribed for him. Because of this tip from Easyread, Will also visited a chiropractic neurologist who did a full examination and found some retained reflexes. He proceeded with this treatment alongside Easyread. The two in combination had a massive impact on Will’s focus, coordination and learning skills. Will’s mother says that she never would have explored the retained reflexes if not for Easyread’s diagnostic help!

AFTER: Will is now entering the final third of the course, and has already caught up with his peers at age 7. He no longer requires classroom support. He and his mother have found the help and advice from Easyread to be fantastic. The confidence Will has gained from catching up to his friends academically is huge. He now seems so much happier and even when he is tired he sits down to do Easyread because he realises what a difference it has made for him. Without Easyread, he would still be struggling with the most basic words and feeling low about himself and his intelligence. Instead, he now comes home bragging about how he’s finished first in some of his classes!

Will’s mother says: “The course is excellent and I cannot recommend it enough. It is life changing for Will. It’s lovely to see how proud he is of himself! Thank you for everything.

I hope other children can find this program

David

I fell much better at reading. At school I am doing much better. Thank you for helping me get better at reading through your Easyread program, and I hope other children’s parents can find this program so that their children can get better at reading. Thank you, David!

Catalina (age 9)

Extremely impressed so far

Joe engaged straight away with the programme and on some days has asked if he can do another lesson. The games are extremely well suited to a boy like Joe and he especially loves the Fighter Mission game. I think the short, sharp bursts of learning are ideal and Joe loves receiving his prizes in the post. I have been extremely impressed with the level of contact and support you have given and we are very happy to date.

Joe definitely has improved in terms of his fluency on the programme. I haven’t yet noticed a big difference in his normal school reading but I understand that its early days. In his normal work he is still tending to fall back on ‘guessing’ unfamiliar words.

His teacher is excited!

I met with Caleb’s teacher this week to show her the EasyRead Program. She was excited to review it with me because she saw some improvement with Caleb over the last few weeks. She told me 2 months ago (around the time Caleb started EasyRead) that he was reading at a level J. This level is according to the DRA (Developmental Reading Assessment) used in SC schools. J is the level for those starting in 2nd grade.
2 months later, he has caught up to the standard and is now at a level M!

She also told me that he volunteers to read in class and he is able to work independently on vocabulary words without her reading it for him.

My hope is for Caleb to become an above average reader. I am also trying to promote this program more among other parents at his school as well. His teacher was very interested and is sharing it with her supervisor.

Thank you for your program. We will continue to enjoy using it.

So far we like…

So far we like:

  • Positive feedback, we enjoy the structure and clarity in our learning objectives.

  • I can see the measurable progress in my son’s decoding and reading ability.

  • The prizes are a great motivational tool.

  • The Skype sessions are really useful and provided additional techniques and advice.

He read Curious George!

Hi! Just wanted you to know that Jarin read his sister a Curious George story the other evening!! He did quite well and we really praised him for it!!! He told me the other night when I was tucking him in bed that he had started reading a Pony Pals book! Just a couple of pages, but he knew I’d be surprised!! 🙂

Encouraging little steps…

I have seen some progress in outside reading. He wrote a nearly accurate birthday note to a sibling last week–a first. He also has found that he can read the word cards for a game he plays with his sibs: Apples to Apples Jr. He was pleased when he realized he could do that. So, these little steps are encouraging for sure.

Really pleased!

I am really pleased! He is really coming along all the way around… spelling well and decoding well. His reading has already begun to pick up a little. We are very pleased and settled into a good routine as well.
Thanks so much!

Reading is very good

Adam’s reading is very good and he is now getting every word correct without any guesses. Also I do believe his spelling of every day words is starting to become more consistent, it is now words that he is unfamiliar with. Hopefully these will also start to improve.

Yes, we are seeing improvement…

Yes, we are seeing improvement for Kai with Easyread. The monkey game in particular has become enjoyable. He told me so this morning “Mum, I actually like the monkey game now”. We like the things we are good at!

I have seen a big improvement in reading the story as well. And I think the eye tracking exercises (in spite of how difficult it actually was to do 10 exercises every single day for 10 days!!!) have really paid off. I didn’t notice much improvement while we were doing them and I must admit I was wondering whether it was worth the pain, but since then, I have noticed quite a huge difference. He is not jumping words or lines anywhere near as much as earlier. And we have switched off the highlight. He is also choosing to play the Eggi game…as in asking me if he can play, which again I take to mean he feels it is something he can accomplish!

His reading generally has improved too. He is tending to try to sound out words rather than just guess based on the first letter and I am better at helping him by sounding out the words I can see he is stuck on, which was great advice from David. Overall I can see a big improvement.

The lesson we did with Sarah on Skype was an absolute god-send as it is really important for the parent to feel confident that they are helping in the right way and that the child is indeed on track (we don’t have other children to compare with). I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the personal contact with you guys. I think that is such a fundamental part of this program.

I am very happy with the program. Just the fact that I don’t have to coerce him into doing a lesson every day is amazing!

Wonderful program!

She is rereading everything and seems to be enjoying the story. Lindsay is reading more of her school lessons with less help. So we are seeing improvement in small steps, but it’s encouraging. Thanks again for this wonderful program.

Awesome!!!!!

Just for your interest I had the teacher at school comment on improvement with him in reading 🙂 which is awesome!!!!! So thanks for your help so far.
