Parent Reviews of Easyread

Our most recent reviews:

We love seeing and hearing him read out loud

We really can see the progress gradually and mainly so far in the joy of reading and interest. We love seeing and hearing him reading out loud labels and sign posts around him on the holidays. He is also less hesitant to read altogether. I will get onto spreading the word definitely on the FB when we settle into the normal life again and would love to introduce the program to our and other schools.

Never thought I would see this positive attitude toward reading!

Her decoding is much more consistent now. I still have to prompt her on occasions not to guess, but this is becoming less and less of an issue. She read a level 4 Biff and Chip book to me yesterday, this would have been unheard of the week before easy read!!!

Mair finds the personalised messages really helpful. She really thinks your watching her and she loves the concept of trying hard for ‘David and Sarah’. (this is her own concept not one I have created) Coupled with all the praise, prizes, certificates fun online activities, Mair finds easy read very motivating and is always asking me to tell her teacher in school how well she’s doing. I never thought I would see this attitude from Mair towards reading!!

Perfect for my son – so different from school

Just a quick note about Michael’s progress on the Easyread programme.

I’m thrilled to have found something that Michael enjoys doing and seems to be really working! I can already see an improvement in Michael’s understanding of phonic sounds whilst playing the game ‘Letter Quest’.

It has been quite a stressful time trying to find new ways to teach Michael reading and spelling techniques, but I now feel I have found something that is very different and tailored perfectly for dyslexia.

Some of the methods used at school seemed like a punishment, Michael would be given a spelling test then any words he got wrong he would be asked to re-write them up to 10 times and tested again! Not fun for him and was putting him off reading and writing!

I can understand why a regular ‘praise’ affirmation is one of the golden rules. Michael has heard a lot of negativity whilst learning at school. Often phrases like “oh come on – you can remember this one you’ve just wrote it before!” or “he just needs to work harder!”

This programme is perfect for my son who learns very visually.

The characters have been a massive success for Michael and he has learnt them all very quickly.

His progress seems to be gathering momentum…

His progress seems to be gathering momentum at the moment so we are very pleased.he has an occupational therapy referral coming up. I am wondering if that might shed any light on his handwriting difficulties and/or his ocular dysfunction.I will keep you informed but for now we are feeling very positive about Easyread and the difference it is making to Freddie.
Thanks again.

The progress that we have seen in Sean’s reading has been amazing.

The progress that we have seen in Sean’s reading has been amazing. He is now sounding out words that he would not even have attempted three months ago. His fluency has improved as well. Many words are becoming automatic for him and his confidence is improving every day! He still has a long way to go but we are very encouraged by the results so far – J

On Lesson 100…

She is on lesson 100 and doing wonderfully! She has started reading books on her own…

We have really enjoyed doing Easy Read…

We have really enjoyed doing Easy Read and we will not be renewing the subscription. Please stop the subscription when our the month is done.  He is doing very well! Thank you for all your support!

I am completely satisfied with the system so far…

I am completely satisfied with the system so far. Savannah has been showing a steady increase in her ability on easy read and we have noticed a huge confidence in her abilities with her other daily reading assignments even though she still struggles with some larger words she is applying her knowledge and attempts to sound out the words rather than guess the most logical word to fill in. We are currently reading a few other books together with her younger sister (Harry Potter series & Disney the Never Girls Series) a few times a week and they both enjoy reading a few paragraphs each chapter, as we progress through the books. We sometimes take breaks from this when things get too busy, but we always return to reading, it’s something all of us enjoy doing together. Savannah’s younger sister Natasha is very supportive of her Big sister on easy read and enjoys watching her do her lesson most nights, and if asked by her sister, does also help her out if she is having difficulties. Natasha is 7 turning 8 next month, so they both enjoy the same stories and if Natasha wasn’t available due to her own homework assignment from school, Savannah loves to share the story updates with her. Some of the cities in the Place name game (I think it’s called) are a little confusing being she hasn’t heard of a lot of the city’s but she still enjoys the task. There have only been a few words we have been trying to decode that we might have used the octopus rather than the uncle to pronounce the word but nothing that causes me much concern because when we see the word the next day or sometimes we can’t wait and tap the word to see, we understand why, just a little bit of Canadian coming out in us.

Learning support teacher has noticed the improvements

I am pleased with how things are going so far. I feel that Cameron is steadily growing in confidence with each lesson and he is still really enjoying the sessions each evening. I am already seeing changes in the way he reads during the lessons: his speed and accuracy have definitely improved, but what is really lovely to see is that if any difficulty arises it is now becoming habit for him to sound and decode the word, rather than use his old strategy of repeatedly guessing.
We recently met with Cameron’s teachers for a parents consultation, and they said that Cameron has talked enthusiastically to them about his easyread lessons. In particular, his learning support teacher who has been working with him on his reading for some time now said she has already noticed improvements in his decoding and reading ability and she asked us to pass that feedback on to yourselves.

This program has helped tremendously

This program has helped tremendously and I think it has done it’s job. His teacher tells us that he increased his reading level by 6 months and his grades have went from C’s to B’s! Thanks so much for this program. I know it has made the difference. Lucas is enjoying to read and we are continuing to work hard.

Luca and I just wanted to share the good news…

Luca and I just wanted to share the good news. We had Luca’s parent teacher interview yesterday and she gave Luca his test results for English reading/comprehension and he scored 11/12 and 12/12!!! We are so excited and so proud as all of Luca’s hard work and effort is really paying off as we are seeing the results. We just wanted to share Luca’s exciting news and say thank you for this amazing program that is really making a difference and changing lives! I know that sound dramatic but the difference it is making for Luca is massive. I can’t wait to see how he continues to improve!

Thanks

Very impressed with this whole system

First of all may I say that I am very impressed with this whole system. Congratulations on creating something so fabulous! I have completed level 1 of the training course and arrived at level 2 but decided to wait until Alex is further along because it related to level 2. Alex is home educated and is extremely intelligent but has always struggled with reading because he did the first few months at school and got very upset trying to do phonics because the rules were very inconsistent.

For the first time ever he is excited to be working on something related to reading. The little gifts work fabulously and he is excited every time he puts a codeword in so thank you!

Just wanted to send a quick note to say that today…

Just wanted to send a quick note to say that today Katea received access to a new bookshelf; this time with no pictures next to the words.  She did a fantastic job!  Was able to read all of the words with no real issues.  She sounded them out if she didn\’t know it and got it right.  It was a success and super cool to see her progress to that.  Thank you so much!

At parent teacher interviews last night…

At parent teacher interviews last night my sons teacher was really excited. He did a reading test on my son with a book a few levels higher than the previous reading test. The teacher said that he was impressed add amazed at Denzal’s confidence in sounding out and then putting the words together. It was a breeze for him, even the big words. The teacher said that he could have tested a couple of levels higher even and he thinks that Denzal would have breezed through it. We are only up to week in the program 6 but the changes in his reading and confidence are super impressive. He can’t wait to do the lesson each day and only having a short lesson is good for his 7 year old attention span! I would highly recommend this program for any kids that are struggling with sight words.

Tiff!

So inspired by your work to solve world problems

The congrats really go to you and your company. I hope my children can make 1/2 the impact you’ve made in people’s life. If they do, then I will have been successful.

If you ever doubt if all your troubles were worth it, they were no doubt tantamount to miraculous for the families and lives you’ve impacted.

Also, I cannot help but feel inspired by your work and I hope to pass your story and hopefully this inspiration on to my children specifically, so they can help solve other serious world problems.

He even used expression when reading!

I am really pleased with Charlie’s progress so far. He is into a routine where we do the lessons almost every day and he often instigates this. We read a tricky book yesterday and his reading was greatly improved, he even used expression in his voice.

Thank you so much for the call yesterday…

Thank you so much for the call yesterday and for your encouraging message for William. It worked wonders.

He started this morning and it was like a breakthrough when he was decoding out loud each sound/letter and the excitement of him decoding it 100% successfully instead of rushing it through with guessing and mistakes. He was so excited that when we read a school book afterwards and there appeared a tricky word for him that previously we would help him – basically just read it for him, because he wasn’t able to read it, now he tried to decode it with your images and it worked and he was absolutely chuffed with the result that he could ‘read’ it by himself!!!

It’s doing real magic your program. Love it.

Now that he has the “technique” to decode rather than guess…

My husband and I are happy with the progress we see in his normal reading. It is just like you say, slow but steady. Now that he has the “technique” to decode rather than guess, we started asking him to do a bit of extra reading because he has catching up to do. You know, before Easyread he had big issues with the short words that all looked similar. He doesn’t have that problem anymore with these high frequency words. On occasions if he doesn’t feel like reading and wants to finish it faster and there is a longer word he is tempted to guess because it is an effort to sound out. But he is not stupid. He does realize that guessing leads to errors, of course if he reads the wrong word it won\’t make sense in the context most times. This weekend we went to the bookstore (my 10 year old reads big books). Paul wanted a Ninjago book, which does have text but it also has a lego figure and I was sure he only wanted it for the lego. Besides, the text in that book is not easy. So, I agreed to buy it only if he agreed to read from a book I found which I thought perfect for his level: The Toad and the Frog. So we bought both books. At home that night he read from his Ninjago book, to my surprise, and today he took it to school.

Exceptional!

I very much like the way you teach the decoding process with the characters then reinforcing it with interactive games along with the loving personal touch and support each child receives right from the start of your program, “Exceptional”! I compliment you on the parent training modules as they ensure understanding and accurate application so each child receives the best support possible. I can already tell you my wife and I are going to become Easy Read teachers. Thank You for this most precious gift.

I can already see you will deliver on your promise of breakthroughs in due time but let me say it’s not the most important thing; the foundation you are giving to each child and parent is invaluable and once that foundation has been established the possibilities for learning and understanding become limitless.

It’s so hard to believe that it’s only been 1 year…

We wanted to drop a quick update on Joshua’s progress.  It’s been about 1 year since Josh finished the Easy Read program and about 18 months since he started it.
It’s so hard to believe that it’s only been 1 year.  In fact, you might want to fact check me on that, because it seems crazy what he’s been able to do in the past year.
He just finished reading Harry Potter (Book 1) 100% by himself.  He loved the book so much and we’ve been able to have deep discussions about the themes of humility and good versus evil in the book.
He’s in 5th grade now.  At the end of 4th grade, he passed the standardized STAR test.  This is something his teachers and principal didn’t think he’d be able to do at all while in elementary school.
He’s reading on grade level in most subjects he’s 100% in with the general ed students.  The school still allows some help in math and science while he catches up.  The teacher he has this year is considered the hardest one and he has actually made straight A’s so far.  This is just incredible.  We asked her if she’s taking it easy on him because she knows he’s struggled and she insists that she is not.  Just unbelievable.  (Note: they are still allowing him a little more time to complete some assignments).
In the first 9 week school session, the teacher assigned 5 different books from 5 different reading genres.  This would have been a challenge for me, even now.  Josh completed the assignment like a champ.
Here are some of the books he’s read.  Note: At first, I did help him by reading some of the books to him and deeply discussing the books (which we love to do together), but now he insists on reading on his own).
Most or all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series
George’s Marvelous Medicine (Roald Dahl – fiction)
The Story Of Money
Who Was Jackie Robinson
Goose Bumps – Night of the Living Dead
Baseball Superstars
White Fang (really loved this one)
Holes (fiction) (loved it)
The Time Hackers (sci fiction)
Old Yeller (historical fiction) (amazing story – great moral)
Crispin (historical fiction – medievil)  (loved it)
Harry Potter  (fantasy) (loved it)
Knots in My Yo Yo (auto biography) (still reading this – great so far)
It’s easy to take for granted where he is and to forget the struggles and path he was on before we found Easy Read.
You should know and feel good about the value you bring to the world in the important work you do.  Thanks so much to David Morgan for having the strength and fortitude to develop this system and deliver it to the market place.  You deserve to be rewarded.  Also, thanks to Maddie, Sara, and Sarah who helped to administer the program. It’s difficult to put into words what you’ve done for Josh and our family.
By the way, I’ve enjoyed seeing some of ya’lls Youtube videos explaining the program.  I recently posted this comment here:
David Morgan’s Easy Easy System is amazing and it absolutely felt like a miracle for our son.  We were at our wits end and had tried so many things.  At the end of 3rd grade, our son was reading at a beginning 1st grade level.  He is now reading at grade level in 5th grade.  Thanks David and your team for all you did for us.  We appreciate all of your hard work every time J finishes a book or when we get to have meaningful discussions about the themes of books.

I have been a little sceptical at the beginning…

Hi David,

I would like to thank you on my and my husband’s behalf for the wonderful program that you developed.

William has been doing it now for three weeks (including the free 10 introductory trial) and he has been loving it and we believe progressing very well.

I have been a little sceptical at the beginning as I couldn’t find anything that would keep William interested in and progressing in the reading.

Despite his little frustrations every now and then, he seems to enjoy the decoding the sentences and all the games that are associated with the learning program.

He has got particularly stimulated when the reward arrived in mail this week.

We haven’t expected that and it was marvellous surprise for William and absolutely #1 motivation.

He loves the Spy glasses and yesterday the magnifying glass arrived and he has been over the moon and wants to do your program over and over again and ideally non-stop, so that’s a good idea to tell him to have a break and try later on.

It seems altogether that the program is designed just perfectly for him.  He is really responding very well to all the tasks and games altogether and we have found that his reading has also improved along the way already.

I have wanted to ring via Skype earlier to THANK YOU, but our evenings are a little crazy in our household and by the time it all slows down I am ready for bed, so my apologies that I am emailing instead.

Many thanks again.

Kind regards,

M

I have to tell you…

I have to tell you that I love seeing the changes in Lennox. We have began doing the program first thing in the morning and it has helped him so much. He looks forward to doing his assignments and in the past week he has been reading signs where ever we are at and trying to read things he once didn’t even pay attention to. Its so exciting to see him have a desire to read. So thank you for this program and having a desire for Lennox to learn and become better even though you have never met him.

After finishing the program…

Hi, I wanted to update you on how Rory is getting on after finishing Easyread. He is now a voracious reader and always has his head in a book. He has just finished the Percy Jackson series which we could never have imagined. He’s been assessed by the dyslexia specialist at school and she agrees he has dyslexic traits and has said that he’ll get a diagnosis of dyslexia towards the end of primary school if things stay the same (and she thinks they will). Interestingly this is mostly based on his writing and spelling and he performs relatively well on reading (which can only be because of the success of Easyread). We wanted to send you a big thank you for helping us to move things forward for Rory. It’s wonderful to see him enjoy books as much as we do now.
