Fantastic News

Today Daisy came home from school having been put up a level in reading skipping ten books as she is doing so well. Daisy is now one of the best readers in her class. We are amazed at how quickly easyread is helping with her normal reading books.

All because of you…

I have achieved my reading 100%, clearly all because of you. I am now fantastic at this talent. I am not struggling anymore. I have enjoyed following your program. Easyread has been a really good experience for me and other people. Thank you.

We have been satisfied with the program…

We have been satisfied with the program. My kids typically remind me that it is time for Easyread. They enjoy the format of the games and are growing in confidence using the program. As we continue with the same Little Pigs story, I see that there is some monotony for them, but the different games at the end keep them motivated.

I can see a specific increase in Julien’s ability to sound words out instead of guessing as he would often do. And I am beginning to see this in his normal reading decoding as well. However, as you mention, I have not yet seen any significant gains in his normal reading.

I understand the need for using the symbols on the second page of the story each week, and Julien has become very proficient at reading the sysmbols and not becoming frustrated. However, I am wondering how long they will have the symbols. I would like to see more substanial text. Will this happen in the next story?

We are patient, and the kids enjoy the program, so I don’t want it to become too difficult. But I am looking forward to seeing the work that they are doing in Easyread translate into real world application. Hopefully, by the end of December, we will have great things to report.

Thanks,
C

I never dreamed he could do this…

Being the school holidays we’ve had a couple of days away, but other than that Andrew has been doing his lessons every night. I am so pleased with his general progress, he now makes an attempt to read everything and his accuracy at decoding is getting a lot better.

His school have monthly spelling tests and for the first 2 years, prior to his dyslexia diagnosis, Andrew’s consistent score was just 4/25. About 4 weeks after starting Easyread, he achieved 15/25. Then, two weeks ago, he got 100%.

When I enrolled him in Easyread I never dreamed he could do this, but he also scored for a high IQ on his psych ed test and I now believe all he needed was the right style of teaching to unlock his potential, and Easyread provided the springboard for this.

Thank you for creating the course…

First, thank you for creating the course. We have enjoyed it and the slow drip feed approach meant that we never felt it was too much and was becoming a chore. I think that Tom’s spelling has improved. His mother, who is able to be more objective, agrees with this.

As some general feedback…

I found your website informative and easy to navigate. The communication with you is very easy. The content of the stories was also very good and I enjoyed waiting for the next installment. Motivation also very good – the prizes were always well received.

I started Ella on Easyread because I was really despairing about her reading…

Ella is coming to the end of Easyread and I just wanted to give you some feedback on her progress – and to say thank you!

I started Ella on Easyread because I was really despairing about her reading. She was assessed at the end of Yr 1 to have a reading age of 4 years and 8 months – significantly behind! She started yr 2 on stage 2 (oxford reading tree) books – which are intended for reception children.

She started Easyread at the start of year 2 and now at the end of yr 2 she is a fabulous reader and is on stage 10 of oxford reading tree. A massive improvement – and it all seemed to happen so easily. Easyread really did take all the struggling out of reading.

It has been so fantastic that I’ve recommended it to some other parents and with the SENCO at Ella’s school.

Many thanks again.

I am so grateful…

I am truly seeing improvement with Preston’s reading. I am so grateful to have found this awesome program. It has allowed Preston to work on his reading skills without making him feel as if he has to do school work during his summer break. It’s been a win/win situation for us!

We're all really amazed…it's great!!!!…

Tonight Isabelle insisted that she did Easyread ON HER OWN – I just hovered in the kitchen pretending to read a leaflet. I think she did really well and it was lovely to see her wanting to do things independently!

All in all, she’s steadily gaining confidence and we’re all really amazed at how quickly it’s all clicking and coming together. She read half a page of the Magic Faraway Tree to me the other evening and did brilliantly!!

I’ve also noticed a lot of reading whilst we’re sat in traffic in the morning. She read the adverts on the back of the bus yesterday, and tonight she sounded out and read the advert for a building firm on the back of a van. She read “Banbury Road”, and other road names too. It’s this kind of reading I’m really beginning to notice (the reading when she’s not asked to read!) – she is obviously seeing words now and just realising that she can read them! It’s great!!!!

I am so happy…

Dear David,

I am so happy that I am in level 4 now. But i am also sad because that means that Easyread is almost done 🙁

We love the Easyread scheme…

I have to say – we love the Easyread scheme and so do the children, particularly Hannah!

Well done on a great product…

I just wanted to let you know that Anna absolutely loves the writing board that you sent her and tracing out the letters of words. It has inspired her to carry on with Easyread.
The graphic/background pictures on the game are really good too. Well done on a great product, I shall certainly recommend it to my friends.

He wouldn't be where he is if it hadn't been for Easyread…

We have been all over the country but I feel that Cal has now made a choice of uni course that will suit him next year – he is aiming to do Computer and Digital Forensics at Teesside.

There is no doubting that he wouldn’t be where he is if it hadn’t been for the impact of Easyread. Our status as “fans” is well known to you. Thanks again for all your help.

She can now read…

Thank you so much for the help that you have given Elizabeth over the last year, it is so fantastic that she can now read.

She is now reading with clarity, enthusiasm and confidence…

Molly has really settled into a morning routine of doing her Easyread lesson. Her confidence is growing all the time and her decoding has improved greatly. Overall the guessing has dramatically decreased. She is asking less and less for help with tricky words.

Molly loves the games – she is still tending to stick to the easy level but I think that is a confidence issue more than anything else and I am hoping that as she continues her confidence will grow as will her self-belief.

In this past week I have noticed a change in her approach to school books, which she is now reading with much more clarity, enthusiasm and confidence. Everytime she brought a new book home she has read the entire book to me. Molly has never been keen to read a school book from start to finish in one go before so I am really pleased.
She was thrilled this morning to learn that same has gained a new prize.

So far the course has been great…

So far the course has been great. Hunter is 6 and half and lots of these words are new to him so its great that he is getting exposed to them. He really enjoys doing the games and is showing some real confidence. Even his teachers are noticing a difference in his reading and writing.

I am very pleased with

I am very pleased with the easyread course so far. Keelah really enjoys doing this as part of her homework. Its quick and easy for her which gives her confidence.

He has really enjoyed the course…

He has really enjoyed the course.  After Christmas he started to free read at home, although continued to go through the reading levels at school.  His mid year tests showed that he had gone up a complete reading level since last year, so we were all very proud of the progress he had made.
I can’t thank you enough for providing us with the routine every night, short enough to keep the interest and motivation going.  Finally Lewys has enjoyed all the prizes, which have been always had the wow factor with him, along with the certificates.
His sister starts school in September, so we may well be back with her!
best wishes

It is great to feel there is someone on my side…

We got Thomas’ mid year report last week, and he passed all subjects which is great. His teacher notes a significant improvement in both his reading and his spelling, which is very encouraging. We also went to see his eye specialist, who sees a significant improvement in his ability to focus.

Thanks again for all your support, it is great to feel there is someone on my side in this tricky battle.

Easyread has helped me learn…

Easyread has helped me learn how to decode which has helped my reading and spelling. I liked the Letterquest game the best, and also enjoyed Pinball and Fighter Mission.

I like the Easyread characters (especially the farting egg) and have managed to do it most days for nearly a year.

A much happier child. …

We are thrilled with the progress that Joseph has made in just 6 weeks. We are not expecting him to read Thackeray yet, but just seeing the change in his confidence, and his belief that he is actually learning to read is worth a million dollars.

He now goes around trying to read anything he can when we are out and about. Before starting Easyread his confidence had sunk to his boots, and he was resisting sitting with even the easiest trainer book and could become very agitated. I think this was impacting on his entire learning experience at school.

We now see him interested in the world around him again. Our friends and family have all noted that Joseph seems to be his old self again, and seems to be a much happier child.

Before half term he actually brought home 5 trainer books, because he “wanted to”. This was a first for us, as he could not be motivated even to look at the books on offer before. Today, at school, it was noted that he had actually read 2 trainer books. We are delighted

Joseph wants to do his Easyread lesson almost as soon as he gets home from school, and, so far, is still totally engaged in the lessons. It is perfect for his current psychology: 7 year old boy with a fascination for spies, and a dap-hand at computer games. I think David Morgan’s manner in the lessons is spot on: warm, encouraging and humorous.

We all love the Easyread characters, which are instantly memorable, and we all have our favourites – the “vulture into culture” is genius! The “nun with a bun” is pure poetry – we have lots of friends who are nuns, and so it’s hilarious for Joseph. So Easyread has managed to engage both mum, dad, and little sister as well as Joseph.

As the lessons progress, it’s easy to see how they are designed to work, and this has given us the confidence in the system to expect that it will continue to lead our son in the method that he needs.

The prizes are an amazingly effective motivator. Joseph looks forward to receiving his “letter from Oxford” more than anything!

So, our feedback at this stage is so far, so very good. I don’t have anything negative to say. Thanks for everything!

The biggest change is that we now understand Adam's difficulties…

Adam is following the programme well and his reading is certainly picking up, particularly if we compare him to this time last year. He is still a very reluctant reader and will battle against it, but this is also a lot less than a year ago.

He is much more inclined to read road signs and the sides of lorries and vans without any prompting, which we continue to encourage. The biggest change is that we now understand Adam’s difficulties and struggles so are better able to help, empathise and encourage him when he is feeling down about his school work.
