Will’s Language Science teacher “accused” Will of practicing his reading skills over the summer. I can vouch for the fact that they became much smoother in the past month. He began reading on his own at that point.
Thank you! Thank you for such a fun program! The incentives really make a big difference.
One thing, you might want to create a facebook page. You will get lots of exposure from parents that click “like”. Wishing you much success and I’ll continue to sing your praises.
Take care,
Angela and Will

Things are going well – better than I expected…
Things are going well – better than I expected. Matthew enjoys the games and we scramble the text of the story so that he has to decode it from the pictures which works well. The prizes are a great motivator.
His normal reading is also getting much better as he is (we are)much more relaxed with it and so it is much more enjoyable for everyone.
One improvement (which may be peculiar to our monitor) would be to get the story all on the screen at the same time in full screen mode – otherwise Matthew gets distracted scrolling up and down the page.
Thanks again for all your support,
Christine
Basically all is fine Luke's reading has…
Basically all is fine Luke’s reading has certainly improved and is concentration on decoding much better.
In terms of the course it works well – perhaps we are getting a bit bored with Jungle juggle and the Three little Pigs so it will be good when it changes. Luke certainly likes the games – especially pinball and letter quest. Overall – it’s great and I am grateful!

Matthew is now decoding the story very quickly and well with no grumpiness. When does he get his next codeword?
Thanks

Easy read has given me the opportunity…
Easy read has given me the opportunity to provide help and supoort for my Son, a struggling reader. It is a delight to see him decode words and get them right!
I greatly value the message service which is always available for me to enquire, ask questions or just update about any aspect of the easy read course. Telephoning is no problem everyone is very friendly and helpful.
I am very happy with every aspect of easy read.
Many thanks
Heather
We think the gradual increase in reading quantity helps…
We think the gradual increase in reading quantity helps to build the child’s confidence and it is gradual enough that they don’t notice the change too much.
The characters above the letters have really helped improve the phonic knowledge and word building.
The games at the end are great fun and a real incentive for completing the daily tasks.
Of course the prizes, letters, messages have all been very positive and a great motivator, particularly the helicopter.
The only aspect Joel disliked was the mushroom picker game because there was no allowance for mistakes. This might make some children more careful but he used to groan if he had that game.
Now Joel has returned to school( and has received the helicopter!) he would like to leave Easyread for now but thank you for the offer of level 5 or other stories. He was looking for a book to read to himself this week so that is a huge step for us.
Thank you for the programme and the regular contact and support.
Best wishes
Frances and Joel
The children enjoy the lessons, they are gaining confidence…
I said most of what i wanted to in terms of review to David in our stage 2 interview but so far I have been delighted. Everything is happening as and when you said it would. The children enjoy the lessons, they are gaining confidence and are so excited about reading – they have books all ready next to their beds for when they can read them! They like the games but don’t like the jokes – they complain they are no fun – just more reading! The characters are popular and as I said to David the only trouble we have now is where there is an apostrophe in the word as the gap is large between letters and they are sometimes confused as to whether it is the end of one word or the start of the next. They love the prizes too! I am very happy so far and looking forward to seeing how this moves across to reading on other contexts! You have given me hope!
Thank you for all the advice as…
Thank you for all the advice as it is really good to finally have some tools to be able to help Bethany rather than just not knowing how to to teach her.

Isabelle is now sounding the words quite well…
Isabelle is now sounding the words quite well (particularly the ones where it is just picture no letters, she seems to find this much easier as she doesn’t get all those mixed messages from the letters). She likes repeating lessons and if I am not there at the beginning of the lesson she is prone to do the same one a few times which may mean she can then guess or at least learn the story, nevertheless she is making progress and the school have finally recognised that we are making significant headway where they could not. I sit with her most of the time whilst she does her easyread.

The Easyread system has been great for…
The Easyread system has been great for building Matts confidence in attempting to say words he is unsure of and it is an easy system for me, as a parent to support him with. The variety of games is good and also the prizes a great reward. Your support has been prompt, friendly and it’s nice to know that I can email any problems I have along the way.

To date we have found the Easyread program excellent…
To date we have found the Easyread program excellent. The boys both enjoy doing their lessons. The rewards in the mail really help keep them motivated. I am impressed by the positive responses given throughout the lessons, whether the child completes the answer correctly or incorrectly. I am motivated to facilitate the daily lessons with the children because I feel a sense of expectation that we will see positive results from our efforts. The other children in our family also continue to show interest and are a great support to their brothers too. The others do not have reading issues but they enjoy watching the games.
We have already seen some improvement in the area of confidence with both of the boys. They seem to have more interest in trying to read. As I said when we spoke on the phone, they both want to read during our family Bible reading time. This is something they did not do previously.
The quick responses via the message system are great. I never feel like I have to wait. Usually when I write with a question or comment, I receive a response in less than 24 hours. Thank you!
If I were recommending your program to a friend, after I told them all the positives as those above, I would feel that I would need to inform them about the use of the word “fart” as this is not a word we use in our home. Also I would comment on the monsters in one of the games. The only other comment I would make is that there are some pronunciation differences but these are easy to work through. I understand that each of these are just personal taste issues and I have not seen anything that would keep me from using the program. The excellence far out weighs these little things.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to reporting an excellent outcome to our efforts with Easyread as the boys progress.
No more dragging Scott to the computer…
First, no more dragging Scott to the computer to do his reading lessons. He was doing ClicknKids before and I would have to bribe him to sit there and finish his lesson. Not so with the Easyread. He thinks its fun.
Next, today Lesson 6, he had several words he never saw before (wasp, bottles, lips, flag). At first he pronounced wasp with the Long A…and then he noticed the octopus up top and self-corrected! yay! He’s never done that before in his life! Did the same thing with the word “bottles”.
Finally, no more tears. He used to cry and get frustrated if he would get a word wrong. Now with the games he takes it in stride and tries to beat the computer game.
There has already been a noticeable improvement in Nathan's reading…
I would like to confirm that there has already been a noticeable improvement in Nathan’s reading – he is more confident and actually asks to read more for homework than I set for him! As mentioned before, he tended to guess words (he doesn’t do with the programme – think the readings are short enough), which he is doing far less of now.
We do the Easyread exercises in the morning before school and they only take a few minutes. This helps us not to forget to do it and also does not make him feel like he has additional “homework” in the afternoon.
Nathan enjoys the computerised format and the games at the end.
I'm just writing to let you know that…
I’m just writing to let you know that Nicholas has become so much more confident with his reading. He wants to read from a book to us every night and gets upset when he can’t. He now knows that it is alright not to know the word by sight and that he takes the time to decode the words.
I find your program to be extraordinary, exciting for the children, it is simple but extremely effective, so much so that my other children just want to watch Nicholas while he is doing it.
Thank you for such a wonderful and well developed program.

The easy read system is going very well for Ben…
The easy read system is going very well for Ben. I have noticed such a differance firstly in his self-esteem and confidence. He is getting that great feeling of achievement, he is alltogether a happier boy.
Sometimes Ben finds a lesson a bit difficult so we do just leave it,- usually till just before he goes to bed, he always finds the lesson alot easier second time round.
The prizes are very exciting infact, getting something in the post is just as exciting for him.
The best part for me is hearing the differance it`s making at school, there have been a few times when he has told me he knew something at school because of easy read and today he came in the door after school waving a certificate he was very excited and saying it was because easy read he got it. The certificate read,- For super work in reading – what a star.
I am so pleased.
I had an assessment made for Ben before we started easy read and now we have the report back so I will forward that to you, that should give you a good picture of his abilities and what his problem areas are.
Thank you and kind regards,
Julie
I thought I would ask Rebecca what she thought of Easyread…
I thought I would ask Rebecca what she thought of Easyread… this is what she said.
…I like the games and you get to do reading in Easyread. It shows that it really is easy to read…
all her own words : )
Happy child = happy mum.
It is just wonderful to see Rebecca enjoying reading again. She has started going to her little bookshelves and picking books to ‘read’. She stopped doing this a while back, before Easyread. She used to get very stressed about reading. She enjoys every lesson. She smiles and laughs whilst doing it. Half the battle won.
And her reading at school has improved. So her teachers say… and I’ve not told them that she’s doing this, so no prompting there.
I find the interface of dealing with you all through messages (or calls if I needed) very easy. The instructions for both parent and child are straightforward. And the prizes are good quality and don’t break after 30 seconds.
Rebecca used to get tears and red eyes from reading and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong – trip to the hairdresser to cut the fringe; trip to the opticians to check the eye sight. No problems there, no solutions. Then we took the eye-tracker test, and bingo the cause of the red eyes was found. So big thanks for the eye exercises and eggy.
Rebecca now actually talks to me in sounds sometimes… so she’ll say… m-u-m, mum, c-a-n, can, y-oo, you, g-e-t, get …. and so on… she says she also think of the Easyread characters when reading in school and they help her along : )
And her little sister (4 in September) doesn’t miss a lesson either. When Easyread comes on she stands on a chair to watch the lesson. She also gets very excited.
So far so good, a well devised system that really engages the child and makes reading accessible and fun.
Thanks
Katie
I can only confirm :): Yes Radek has…
I can only confirm :): Yes Radek has made progress in his confidence and fluency when reading with Easyread. It is amazing for me to see that my son is reading without looking at me after every word. He reads whole lesson text in independent way. It was not possible before he started this course. And there is no problem from his side to do the lessons. He is realy willing to work with Easyread.
And If you ask me about my opinion about this product I have to say: It is fantastic!!! Till now we have only some technical problems . Because we’ve moved from The Netherlands to Poland for few weeks we have a problem with internet connection to loading the Easyread lessons- but now is OK. For me as a parent is is very important and comfortable I have a filling that treat my son individually – we talk about Radek and his needs not about average 8th years old child. So you designed and organised this tool very very good.
Thank you and all the best in your improvement!!
Beata
We were thrilled with Sam's school report…
We were thrilled with Sam’s school report and his score of 2B for reading – which I gather is average.Considering he couldn’t read at all in September, I think this is pretty good. Expecting great things for the coming months too. Please pass this onto David.
Best wishes

Just thought we would update you…
Just thought we would update you on our thoughts so far. We are impressed! Lachlan is enjoying his daily lesson and so far is decoding each word something he fought against in the past, preferring to ‘guess’. He know’s them but is still decoding. He loves the characters and enjoy’s David’s sense of humour, it hits a cord with Lachlan

I just wanted to let you know that William…
I just wanted to let you know that William ( who was queried as being a dyslexic in year 1) has just got a level 3 in his end of year 2 KS1 SAT’s. I put it all down to Easyread and his hard work. We are really proud of him and are very thankful that we found you and your website.

Easyread has been an easy program to…
Easyread has been an easy program to include in our busy schedule. Ryan always looks forward to doing it each morning and has a sense of excited anticipation about what he might be doing next – or if a prize word will appear today. I think because the lessons are short he never gets sick of them.
He is starting to try harder to sound out words even to spell now so I am beginning to feel as though we are breaking through the barriers that have been holding him back. I still like to observe when he reads the story to ensure he is sounding out the words – particularly the less familiar ones – and not just guessing.
The games are well designed to minimize any opportunities to guess so I observe him doing those from more of a distance.
Eggy is his new favorite game and he likes to play it every day.
Many thanks for your prompt responses to the codeword notifications. Ryan has worked out that something comes in the letterbox two days after the prize word has appeared. You can be sure he’s listening for the postman that day!

I searched the internet out of desperation…
I searched the internet out of desperation as my son was struggling so
much with his reading. Having paid out a lot of money for tutoring,
he had managed to learn most of the high frequency words ‘off by
heart’, but both the tutor and his school had failed to teach him the
most basic factor in reading which was connecting letters together, to
make words. (phonological wareness). I know it sounds easy once you know how, but somehow 4
years of primary school later, and he still hadn’t grasped that
concept. I don’t understand entirely how they managed it, but 6 weeks
into the easyread system and it had clicked. It was so fantastic to
see. I’m not saying that was end of his reading problems, but it was
a huge step in helping him. Once your child has mastered this, they
then need to stop their habit of guessing words. The words he had
learned, high frequency words, were always the words he guessed with
other words, simply as the first letter was the same. The easyread
scheme concentrates so hard on removing that bad habit away from your
child. With characters as a guide, your child will learn to ‘say’ any
word they like within the text without struggling. After time, they use
the characters as a guide less frequently, and can read well without
it. 3 months into the course and my sons reading had improved by 11
months ( analysed by his physcologist).
The thing I found most surprisingly positive about the course was the
support we received. Everytime my son lost motivation, or came to a
stumbling block, the support was there immediately. Obviously the
frequent motivation in the form of prizes were a massive support, and
the encouraging note, and knowing a prize was coming in the post added
to the motivation. The support is honestly like having a teacher living next door, who you can just pop in and see at anytime, and is always keen to help.
I know, on the outset, the course does appear very expensive, and I know there are plenty of websites out there who take advantage of desperate parents, but I promise you, without any doubt, that this is not one of them. For all the help and support you receive, as well as the lessons and fun games, and prizes, it is more than worth its money.
My son has got underlying difficulties due to past speech and language difficulties, so unfortunately this scheme wasn’t a quick fix solution for him. I have to say now though, his support teacher doesn’t now see my son as having a reading problem. For him, its comprehension. (understanding what the story is meaning). So for any kid without comprehension problems, well wow, you can’t go wrong. And for other kids who do have problems, well its still a huge help.
Thank you so much easyread,
Heather
I just want to tell you that…
I just want to tell you that your program is making an incredible difference for Addison. He is nearly 15 and has every sort of intervention available during his schooling, with little or no result. For the first time ever, he feels like he is learning to read. He is making amazing progress and can decode three letter words at a glance now, where before he could not manage the initial sound even. He is willing to take on the challenge of reading now and is excited to be reading sentences. Thankyou for giving this kid hope.
